Eye Candy Friday

Here’s the iris from Wednesday as it looks today. The sun came out and it popped, just as I predicted it would.

It’s supposed to be a glorious weekend and I’m planning on reveling in it. I hope you do, too!

I think it’s wonderful that Macro May coincides with the blooming of all the tiny spring wildflowers – it gives me a great excuse to take pictures of Star of Bethlehem!

Have a fantastic weekend, my friends!

It’s Macro May and that makes me happy because I love to use my macro lens. It’s tricky to get macro closeups to be sharp and focused so I appreciate the opportunity to practice at it for a whole month. I also appreciate the ability to use RadLab to make my less than focused macro shots look kind of funky, like this one!

Tomorrow is Frank Harlow Day and the weather forecast is iffy. Please send vibes for sunshine and blue skies!

Foxglove from the garden at the Governor’s Palace at Colonial Williamsburg. The flowers there were gorgeous and I could have taken zillions of photographs of them.

This weekend is all about resting, recharging, and relaxing. I hope you get to do the same!

The grape hyacinths are up and flourishing in my garden. I took this photo the other day and had a little post processing fun with RadLab. If you haven’t seen RadLab before now, you might want to check it out, especially if you are someone who has been using Picnik. RadLab isn’t free but it’s amazing – trust me.

I hope you all have a joyous Passover, blessed Easter, and wonderful weekend. That ought to cover just about everybody, right?

Eye Candy Friday

I read somewhere that the cooler days we are now having will slow down our flowers and make them last longer – kind of like sticking them in the fridge. I hope that’s the case because daffodil season is far too short for me!

My weekend is gloriously without plans! Hooray!

Generally at this point in the year I am lucky to have crocus starting to bloom. This year, however, my crocus are already fading and I now have daffodils and forsythia. Weird. Anyway, I’m glad I took a bunch of crocus photos the other day before they withered away.

My weekend plans include some home improvement, some movie going, some relaxing and whatever else comes my way. Hope your weekend is great and includes whatever makes you happy!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all – May the luck of the Irish – because everybody’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day – be with you!

The crocuses in my father-in-law’s yard are in full bloom, too. I love looking across my yard and seeing clusters of them under the trees. Their pale purple petals are such a harbinger of spring.

Enjoy your weekend!
