Eye Candy Friday

This abandoned tractor is on my brother-in-law’s property in the part of our ‘hood we affectionately call “down back”. Dale and I walked there last weekend. It was chilly but not cold, the earth was muddy and it felt great to be outside.

I’m going to make sure to get outside this weekend, too. Before the Super Bowl, of course.

Go Pats!

Eye Candy Friday

Between the picture of the cardinal the other day and my neighbor’s shed today I’m guessing you can surmise that we had some snow last week. It’s long gone now but it was pretty while it lasted.

I hope you find something pretty to look at this weekend!

Eye Candy Friday

Today’s Eye Candy Friday is brought to you by my new knowledge of Photoshop and my new love of textures. I can see how this could easily become addicting! I can also see how it could become really easy to take this too far and I think it’s going to be important to know, as my mother used to say, when to say when. Some pictures are truly just fine straight out of the camera, after all. This tulip, however, looked a lot like every other tulip picture I had taken until I added a texture background to it. Now it looks all vintage-y and cool. Shut up, vintagey- is too a word.

And that’s all for me this week. Have an awesome weekend!

I took this photo of the pond near my office on a day last week when the temperatures turned frigid – that’s not foam you see along the shoreline, that’s ice forming as the water hits the sand. Cool, huh?

Have a great weekend!

A shot of the landscape from our second walk of 2012. It’s scenery like this that keeps me motivated right now.

Happy Weekend!

Eye Candy Friday

While champagne is traditional on New year’s Eve, you can be assured that I will be toasting the end of 2011 with a glass of bourbon from this bottle of Woodford Reserve, a wonderful Christmas gift from Dale.

Cheer to all of us! May the new year bring peace, inspiration, beauty and love into all our lives. Happy New Year, my friends.

Eye Candy Friday

Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year
And let it be Christmas
Christmas everywhere  ~Alan Jackson

Merry Christmas, my friends!

Eye Candy Friday

Today’s Eye Candy Friday is brought to you by the Christmas Tree Decorating Contest at Christmas on the Common. The Garden Club had an awesome tree this year with great hand made ornaments. I think this Santa face made from a milkweed pod is just adorable.

Happy Weekend!
