Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about the state of my hands…

I don’t spend much time on Substack, but there is one weekly newsletter that I wouldn’t miss and that’s Sarah Fain’s Chickening Out.
Sarah Fain is a Hollywood writer and her partner is Liz Craft and they have a podcast called Happier in Hollywood. Chickening Out is about Sarah’s commitment to roasting a chicken every week this year, in the hopes of finding the perfect roast chicken.
She writes about that experience weekly, ranks the chickens she has roasted so far, and also shared what she does with the leftovers. It’s a fun and interesting read each week and it has even inspired me to up my roast chicken game. I happen to be a paid subscriber but I think you can get the newsletter for free if that’s your preference.
I encourage you to check it out and see if it appeals to you, too.

Hmmm, this sounds good (I will get the newsletter. Colin and Mailing get 4 chickens a month from a farm…so basically a chicken every week. They end up with a ton of chicken broth and many, many different chicken dishes.
We eat a lot of chicken… and it can get pretty boring quickly! So thank you for an additional resource for creativity with chicken! XO
I don’t enjoy podcasts very much but there are several substacks that I enjoy. This one sounds interesting and I will check it out. People do find some offbeat things to write about!
That’s a lot of roast chicken-ing! 😀
Thank you, Carole! This is right down my alley. I enjoy reading about food and cooking very much, even though I don’t do a lot of it these days. It’s hard to get excited every day about cooking for one, at least for me. These types of articles teach me new interesting things, and hopefully inspire me to get in the kitchen more.
