I didn't mean to be AWOL yesterday, it was just one of those things, you…
Vacation, All I Ever Wanted
Our vacation on Cape Cod was wonderful. We spent our days at the beach and our nights on the deck of our rental house. We relaxed and laughed and truly enjoyed being together as a family. It was just what I needed.
Please indulge me as a share a few of my favorite photos of our week.
The beach. I love the surf and the sand and the sun. I love packing a lunch and spending the day just hanging out, swimming, body surfing, and soaking up the rays.
Hannah loves it, too. So long as she has her cell phone and her iPod.
Of course, getting to the beach with 5 people, 2 boogie boards, 4 beach chairs, 3 beach bags, and a float – all in a Jeep – can be tricky. But we managed.
When we weren’t at the beach we were hanging out on the deck. Doing a little drinking. That’s my martini that Jessica is holding. It’s the closest I got to any photo. Heh.
And for Dale, a little pipe smoking.
Truly, it was a really wonderful week. Even the traffic on the ride home was okay. Yes, my friends, that’s okay traffic. You don’t want to know what bad Cape Cod traffic looks like!
Come back tomorrow and I’ll show you my vacation knitting.

Sounds like an awesome vacation and I’m happy to hear that it was just what you needed.
Sounds like it was wonderful! Wish I could have seen YOU soaking up some rays, though. Guess I’ll have to settle for vaca knitting.
Having grown up spending every summer at the Cape (we used to camp in Brewster over July 4), I’d agree that for a summertime journey that’s excellent traffic.
Congratulations on a lovely-sounding vacation. I’d be lying if I said I weren’t a bit jealous!
It looks wonderful. *sigh*

I’m so glad you got to relax and enjoy your vacation.

I’m craving beach time after seeing your photos!!
What awesome pictures! I am so happy you had such great weather!! Hopefully reality is not too harsh today!
Looks like you had fun! I’m taking the day oof tomorrow and spending at the beach, can’t wait!
It sounds heavenly!
Sounds like a wonderful week! There was time for knitting, too? I am so impressed.
I am glad to see that you had such a nice trip 😉
Beautiful! You’re such a tease.
Welcome back! I’ve missed my morning dose of Carole 🙂
Sounds like it was a wonderful vacation; glad you had a good and relaxing time.
It looks WONDERFUL!! I think I could enjoy a week on the cape too. I will have to chat with you about how you got your house rental…..I’m thinking next year I would like a real vacation 🙂
Oh ya, before I forget……..I really missed visiting with you in the mornings with my coffee 🙂
I love the beach…isn’t it wonderful to have the time to do nothing? Best vacations ever!
Looks just about perfect. Welcome home.
Welcome home! Looks like a really good time was had by all!
I’m glad you had a nice relaxing vacation. 🙂
I’m so glad you had fun, and it looks like relaxation too. I shudder about bad cape cod traffic! A couple weeks ago I drove from Augusta to Lawrence/Lowell area, and the traffic was backed up from Wilmington (93) to Newburyport (495/95) to Wells-it was like a parking lot in the northbound lanes…and it took us an hour to get the mile through the Hampton toll going south! I was SOSOSOSOSOSO glad to be home where ‘traffic’ means waiting 10 minutes.
The photo of everything really made me laugh. Ah, family vacations, I remember them well. I’m glad you had some time with the whole family to just relax.
Summer on the Cape… there’s nothing better. 🙂 I’m glad you had such a great time!
I missed your posts while you were gone. Glad you had a good time on vacation. I’m a hiking-in-the-mountains kinda gal myself.
The photographer is never in the pictures, but at least you got a picture of your martini – perhaps your fingerprints made it into the photo!
Looks and sounds like a great time! Hannah looks very JackieO-ish in that photo (if that’s a good thing)!
Sounds like a great time. There is nothing like a vacation at the Cape.
Sounds like just the perfect vacation. And I guess traffic was relatively “light” – I could still see the daylight between the cars! 😉
Glad you all had a nice getaway! Ambrynn loves looking at all your pictures and so do we! We miss you!
Welcome home :o)
looks perfecto to me!
just lovely
Looks like you all had a wonderful trip!
What a wonderful vacation! We went to Cape Cod three years ago and I wish we lived close enough to return. Probably not anytime soon, unfortunately! Glad you had such fun.
So glad you got some pretty socks knitted up and had a great time. I’m ready for Fall!
It looks like great fun! I wonder if you were at the same beach I visited when I was there? My friends that used to live there had a house that looked over a nature preserve. It was a great place.
Gorgeous! Just gorgeous. 🙂
Welcome home! and the traffic does indeed look fine – been there, done that, yuuuuck to going-home Cape traffic. The pics are lovely (and so is the knitting). Take care.
