The Stockings Were Hung

What’s a knitter to do when she needs to wash all her socks and she can’t hang them on the clothesline to dry because it’s snowing?

Hang ’em by the chimney, of course.

This is the first time I’ve ever done this and I can’t believe I never thought of it before. They dried in no time and I got a lot of pleasure from glancing over at them all afternoon.

Too bad it wasn’t Christmas Eve. I’d have made out like a bandit.

  1. Wish I had a chimney to hang my socks over for drying. I use my home made wire sock blockers and hang them hook them into my suspended ceiling over the sink.
But when I do that I love that I can see them from my computer.
Man, I thought I had a few pairs of socks. You win!

  2. Awesome, awesome, awesome…..you are a sock knitting maven! I found your blog and I am really enjoying reading and catching your knitting spirit. This picture is eye candy enough for me. Purty, purty socks.
Question…where does one find ‘yer basic 64 stitch picot edge’ sock pattern???
Love your blog, I’ll be checking back often. Happy Knitting,
    Lori

  3. Now *that* is a sight! Way cooler than all of mine slung over the shower curtain rod on laundry day. Oh how I wish we’d gotten the apt. with the fireplace…

  4. I’m late on this one… but one of these photos would make a great Christmas card to send out to your grrlfriends – just sayin’!
