Right Now

Want to know what’s going on with me right now? Read on . . .

morning sun down back for carole knits

Savoring . . . The warmth of the sun.

Watching . . . Outlander. Last week was the wedding. It was very well done and Claire’s dress was amazing.

Also Watching . . . The return of my favorite shows. The Good Wife was great this week and I can’t wait for Grey’s Anatomy tomorrow night.

Reading . . . A Winter’s Tale. I’m halfway through and finally enjoying it. Greatly.

Knitting . . . Flower Cactus. And Hannah’s socks. And Len’s scarf. Nothing new here, move along.

Sewing . . . Something to wear to King Richard’s Faire this weekend. This may or may not have involved a quick and dirty re-do of one of my Civil War reenacting dresses.

Wearing . . . Wool socks. It’s the first day of fall and I’m glad I held out until then.

Choosing . . . Carpet. And paint. And lighting fixtures.

Enjoying . . . The patio heater Dale got me for my birthday. It’s awesome for these chilly nights.

Processing . . . Senior photos of my friend Doreen’s son. I love this kind of work.

What’s going on with you right now?

  1. I’m dying to see what you did with your Civil War dress!
We have a short reprieve from shoes and socks, but I think it’s very short-lived. Fall will go into winter in a trice.
Now I’m wondering if a patio heater would be nice for our patio, as a fire pit could be a danger.

  2. Shoes and socks–I am not ready! Loved the kick-off of Good Wife and the premiere of Madam Secretary looks promising. The best thing about the TV watching is time to knit!

  3. Hlad to see your comment about A Winters Tale. I’m only 50 pages in but wasn’t sure. Have fun at KRF – such a fun time!

  4. Food prep for Rosh HaShana. Finishing toe of second “Carole Pattern” sock. Waiting for 5th Outlander book to come in to Rockport Public Library. Wishing we got Starz, but we don’t, so I’ve seen only the first episode of the TV rendition. Kidding myself that I don’t mind having “just” the books. Thinking that the actor playing Jamie looks somewhat like the redheaded young Kennedy who is (?) your current U.S. representative.

  5. I’m knitting Anni socks for my brother-in-law to wear at his upcoming wedding, reading Spencer Quinn’s Chet and Bernie mysteries because they’re funny, watching the second season of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries from a DVD I got at the library, and cooking recipes from Ottolenghi’s cookbooks. Roast chicken with sumac, za’atar and lemon tonight!

  6. Fun post! I’m preparing for the Make Wear Love Retreat this weekend on the coast of Maine 🙂 I’ll probably cast on a bazillion sweaters next week! Ha!

  7. My daughter is going to the faire on Saturday. Can’t wait to see what you come up with to wear. A patio heater is sounding like a great idea!

  8. I am so glad you’re liking Winter’s Tale!!!! A bit of a slog . . . but a great story! XOXO (I’m really envious of your patio heater! What a great way to extend the season.)

  9. Here, it’s been all about the dyeing and winding getting ready for shows. I’m looking forward to getting back to a more sane routine after next weekend.

Happy that you are getting some nice weather and enjoying “Rosie” 🙂
