The last rose of summer. The first is full of promise of all that is…
Eye Candy Friday
When the cold weather landed in earnest I couldn’t bear to throw away all of my outdoor container plants. I brought this coreopsis inside with the hope that it would survive. I don’t think it will (odds are against it) but it bloomed last week and that’s not a bad thing. It’s a weak bloom and the flowers are on very thin stems and they are hanging down rather than up, but still – it’s blooming. There’s a life lesson in there but it’s early and I’m under caffeinated and over pie-d so I’ll leave it to you to figure that out.
Enjoy the weekend. Or, see you tomorrow!

Bloom in any unique way you can, even if it’s upside down? Whatever the life lesson is, it’s certainly an interesting photo!
Too bad you didn’t pop it into the ground. I inherited some beautiful ones in our yard, and I really enjoyed them this summer.
Perhaps the life lesson is to enjoy what you have, even if its upside down and impermanent?
I have the same (low) hopes for my pepper plant. However the peppers ripened into a lovely red color, so that’s something.
The life lesson is to accept what is? Happy day after and I hope you now have time to relax!
The plant has heart that is for sure…and any blooms are better than no blooms at all!
Admiring your Fat Babies in the sidebar. I finally got some and love’em. Not shiny like yours, though.
It may not last, but it will give you some pleasure until it doesn’t 🙂
Have a fun weekend!!
Nice shot! Happy Friday Carole, I’m over cookied…but not done yet!
What a valiant little coreopsis. Still smiing, albeit weakly.
I’m undercaffeinated myself right now, so all I’ll offer is that I love the dreamy quality of the image. Hard to believe it’s November!
