I was listening to the Happier podcast yesterday and Gretchen and Elizabeth were talking about…
Three On Thursday
Another Thursday. Another 3 random things.
Dale and I have been watching the show M*A*S*H. It’s always been one of my favorites and Dale never really watched it since it aired on Monday nights and that was Boy Scout night. It’s been really fun to watch it together and I’m still in awe of the writing. We’ll watch an episode that will have us in stitches and that will be followed by one that has us in tears. It has not lost any of it’s relevancy in the 50 (can you believe that?) years since it started.
Kym’s post about purchasing a flower subscription really resonated with me and I was thrilled when a friend shared a post on social media about a brand new one in my area starting this week and going for 5 weeks. It was a bit of a splurge but the flowers are delivered directly to my door and, as someone who works, that is a huge bonus. I’ll share a photo of this week’s bouquet tomorrow and I think you’ll agree that this was a fine idea. I mean, sure, I grow dahlias but I won’t have blossoms for another few weeks at least and this will get me over the hump.
I qualified for the TikTok creator fun at the end of May and I got my first pay out this week in the amount of $78. I’ve never monetized this blog and I have no plans to do so, but it’s nice to get some compensation for the content I create. I know that blog reading doesn’t necessarily translate into watching videos on TikTok. And I know there are concerns about the app itself (although I have very different theories about why it’s proposed to be banned and they have nothing to do with China and everything to do with how we get information) but if you’re on TikTok or are TikTokCurious, you can find my account here. And I don’t talk about knitting.
Have a great day!

I will be eagerly awaiting the picture of your flowers! What a lovely way to treat yourself!
I love the idea of flowers delivered to your door weekly. What a lovely gift.
I’m also excited to see your flowers! I rarely cut many flowers except for small bouquets, so I’m glad you’ll be sharing yours with us.
We just re-watched MASH (the movie version). And that too had us discussing just how remarkable was a new type of cinematography at the time.
Would you believe I’ve never watched M*A*S*H? It came on the air before I was born, and I was too young to watch it in the later seasons. But it’s such a big cultural thing that one of these days I’ll have to find a way to watch it.
Looking forward to seeing your flowers!
I just read MASH the book at the beginning of June. What amazed me was that someone read such a think story line a made it not only into a movie but a very successful tv show!
I didn’t watch M*A*S*H very often when it was first aired, but I was a big fan of the 10:30 weeknight airing of reruns (after the late local news) for years! I couple of years ago (maybe during the Pandemic?) I watched the entire series in order and LOVED it! I, too, was amazed at how well it’s held up. Brilliant. And I’d watch the whole thing again!!
