The last rose of summer. The first is full of promise of all that is…
Eye Candy Friday
The beautyberry is looking really spectacular this year.
I’m taking a lot of comfort in the natural world these days. While the world around me is full uncertainty, the predictability of nature is incredibly reassuring. Summer turns to fall and fall turns to winter, plants grow and die back, birds sing and migrate and return. The dependable flow of the natural world is teaching me about resilience and I am here for it.
I hope you’re finding comfort where you can these days.

Your beautyberry is gorgeous! I hope your weekend is too! XO
No wonder the name of that plant is Beautyberry. It is gorgeous!!
An excellent and true coping mechanism, Carole. You are already resilient to turn to it so quickly. I have been taking long walks around the lake in the huge urban park in my city since the election. The ducks, geese, deer, and buffalo seem not to know about the election. t’s very centering and comforting. Here’s to 4 years of developing self-comforting habits which will make us more resilient, and probably more healthy! Just like nature, this too shall pass away. Your beautyberry is fabulous! I don’t think we have them down here.
I love Beauty Berry! Yours is spectacular. Does it get a lot of sunshine?
Oh, wow. That’s gorgeous! I need to get me one of those!!
Have a great weekend!
I remember finding great comfort in the predictability of nature at the start of the pandemic, and it’s just as comforting now. I hope your weekend is every bit as spectacular as that beautyberry!
Lovely Carole. We need all the lovely we can get these days! Wishing you and Dale and nice weekend.
