Currently, November 2024

We’re past the mid month and I think we’re do for an update on what’s going on in my life right now.

Knitting: Patrick’s Musselburgh hat. I’ve actually been making some progress now that we have a proper living room and television again. I might even get it done in time for Christmas.

Reading: Leonard and Hungry Paul. It’s delightful.

Listening: Be Ready When the Luck Happens. If you’re an Ina Garten fan I definitely recommend this one.

Watching: Season 3 of The Bear. We’re behind on all of the shows we regularly watch. We just finished season 4 of Only Murders in the Building last week.

Eating: Soup because Soup Sunday is back. It’s a great way to start the week.

Planning: Christmas gatherings! My calendar is already filling up with social engagements.

Loving: Everything about our new living room, dining room, and front hallway. The hardwood floors. The new paint on the walls. The custom built ins. The gas fireplace. I will be sharing a full room reveal soon.

Not loving: The hellscape I predict for the next 4 years.

Dreaming: Very vividly. Recent dreams include one where Fred was being attacked by a bear in the backyard and I saved him and one where Dale went off to fight the Nazis in WW2 and became MIA and never returned home. Oof.

Continuing: My Taylor Swift 101 quest. I’m on to the album Speak Now and my favorite song from the Fearless album is Hey Stephen.

What’s happening for you right now?

  1. Knitting a Musselburgh, reading Leonard & Hungry Paul, while eating soup sounds ideal to me! So does everything else (except the hellscape and bad dreams).

  2. I am on the waitlist for Leonard & Hungry Paul, and I made a pot of chicken soup on Sunday… so, yes to Soup Sunday’s!!

I am so excited for you in your new space! What fun and I can’t wait for the Big Reveal! XO

  3. Yay for Soup Sundays! I enjoyed Leonard and Hungry Paul so much. But those dreams? Horrible. Wishing you more peaceful and restful sleep.

  4. We’re thinking about all the soups & stews right now! I think yesterday was probably our last day in the 50s until spring… and we just received our first Winter Weather Advisory of the season (2-3″ of wet snow) (oh yay).

  5. I, too, am dreaming vividly. Not good ones, either. Let’s both try to remember they are just dreams. Maybe it is helping us work out our traumas. Soup Sunday sounds like a wonderful thing. So, does that mean you make soup every Sunday? I can live on soup these days. It’s a good thing that you are behind on all the shows. I am not, and there will be no new offerings until after the holidays. Looking forward to your reveal. So far, glimpses have just been so lovely.

  6. I have a feeling we’re going to be Soup Sunday this weekend for us because the highs are only supposed to be in the 30s. Brr! I wish I could explain why you’re having such strange dreams. Mine haven’t been particularly vivid lately, but I’ve had some doozies, and I’d really love to know where they come from. I’m sure in both instances you were happy to wake up and discover they were dreams!

  7. Oh, I am so glad you’re enjoying Leonard & Hungry Paul! I think that book is a perfect “feel-good” read — and especially for right now. I just started Ina’s memoir this morning (I’m listening, too). Glad to hear you recommend! XO
