I have a theme this week!
Spring is still elusive around here but there were 3 distinct moments when I noticed it …
- On Monday night I heard spring peepers! Dale and I are in the habit of going out to eat after my Monday meeting and when we got out of the car at the restaurant I heard them and it stopped me in my tracks. They were loud and proud and hearing the for the first time is always one of my favorite moments of spring.
- There are pussywillows in bloom. There’s a big field that I drive by every morning on my way to work and there are pussywillows all along the edge and they are perfect right now.
- I looked out my kitchen sink window yesterday and saw a daffodil in bloom by my front door. (My house is L-shaped so I have a perfect view of the front garden from this window.) That pop of yellow was such a welcome site on a dreary morning.
I’m hoping to plant pansies in the window boxes this weekend. It’s time!
