Eye Candy Friday

See? I told you the leaves were starting to turn already. Although, thanks to Maryse and NPR at least I know I’m not old.

I’m not ready to say goodbye to summer so I’ll be making the most of this long Labor Day weekend. Hope you do, too.

  1. Are you sure summer is ending? It’s just heating up over here, and I’m starting to think it’s never going to end.

    Happy Long Weekend, Carole!

  2. Gorgeous photo. I noticed the leaves changing on my drive to Jersey a few weeks ago. I hate that the days are getting shorter. Hope you have a great weekend.

  3. While I am happy to see the leaves starting to turn since that means winter will soon be here. I am also happy to see that it means maybe the heat of the summer is on its way out.

  4. I’m totally ready to say goodbye to summer. Bye-bye summer! Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

Give me Fall. Crisp mornings with cobalt blue skies; brilliant foliage; handknit socks; hot spiced apple cider. Blankets on the bed at night. That’s what I long for. 🙂

  5. If the winters were shorter and sunlight in greater supply, perhaps I’d welcome fall with a little more enthusiasm. Wonderful photo.

  6. My theory on the leaves? We’ve had a slight shift of seasons. It seems to me that each season now starts earlier than it used to. I came to that conclusion a few years ago, from watching weather so I could plan bunny chores.

  7. Very pretty! On my trip up to Maine, I was amazed at how many trees are turning, but then Ken reminded me that at least up here, it is normal. Every year I say how early it is for the leaves to turn and every year he reminds me that it really isn’t….hahaha!

  8. We’re blowing her theory to bits here in Vancouver – our leaves are turning, but we’ve been soaked this summer. What summer? I don’t like this fall feeling already.

  9. I’ve noticed the leaves are changing early this year in Germany, too.

Have a wonderful weekend, and I hope your weather still feels like summer and not autumn!

  10. I’m a little jealous, Carole. = ) You know I love fall, it’s my favorite season, in New England anyways. I will miss it for sure. Will I miss snow and ice in winter? No. But fall ,ah…that is another story…
