Vacation Recap 2010

I am back from my family vacation on Cape Cod. It was as wonderful as always. There was time to do all of my favorite things.

I spent lots of time at the beach.

I read – in fact I finished 2 books.

I knit a lot. I finished a pair of socks and made some progress on a shawl I am knitting for a friend to wear in her wedding next month.

I took lots of photos and created some great memories.

I shopped and ate delicious foods.

I rode my bike and walked on the beach.

I hung out with my family and friends.

The only thing that would have made it better would have been another week of it!

Sigh. It looks fabulous. Welcome back… to both of us. We had just about perfect weather — did you? I’m told it rained only twice in the two weeks we were gone, which would explain why we returned home to a dead lawn (I hope only mostly dead, as opposed to all dead).

Did you spin? I knit very little (weather too good), but I spun by the lake quite a bit.

Nothing better than a relaxing vacation with knitting and can’t wait to see what you’ve worked on.

So glad you had a good time, we enjoyed being a part of your week :) Seeing that lace shawl inspired me, I’m looking for a shawl to knit for myself … any suggestions? Love the sunset picture, it’s gorgeous!! Welcome home, I missed you!!

Welcome home! Your week sounds like a slice of heaven. Today is the end of my time off as well. Good luck re-entry.
    What books did you read?

Ah, but always better to go home wishing for more instead of being there wishing you were already home. Wishing you a gentle re-entry.

You had the best of all worlds with one week at home and another on the beach. Your photos are incredible. The sunset looks like magic.

How wonderful! Someday I must actually get to Cape Cod (planned to many years ago, but the weather that week was so bad we decided to go straight up to Boston and hole up in the museums at Harvard instead – will never forget the glass flowers).

It looks SO good!! The weather has been perfect (until yesterday). Looks like this week will be a wash out. We need it though.

So glad it was wonderful. It’s always so hard to “re-enter” real life after a vacation, isn’t it? Somehow that doesn’t see quite fair!

Isn’t that always how it is? Vacations aren’t ever long enough!

Your vacation sounds like it was perfect! So many wonderful moments, food, and relaxing views. I was gone myself, and I completely agree that vacations should last longer.

Glad you are back, had a great week, and all the other good stuff, but I, for one, really missed your pleasant, optimistic words at the beginning of my day :-) (I could probably run this on for a few words but I’ll stop!)
I would like to take a vacation and stay until I’m ready to go home just to see how long that would be.

Welcome back and thanks for sharing the lovely photos! They’re certainly nice to see on a dreary day like today.

Thank goodness you’re back! I’m not sure I would survive if you left me with those people for two whole weeks.
