Ten On Tuesday

I’m going to be conducting interviews at work over the course of the next month or so and I always look forward to this sort of thing. I like to meet new people, I like to ask questions and get thoughtful answers, and then I like to evaluate what I’ve learned about a person. It got me thinking, though, that it’s been a long time since I had a job interview myself. And so that’s why today’s Ten on Tuesday topic is 10 Words to Describe Yourself in an Interview. Just the words this time – no elaboration!

  1. Organized.
  2. Positive.
  3. Smart.
  4. Independent.
  5. Honest.
  6. Friendly.
  7. Ambitious.
  8. Consistent.
  9. Efficient.
  10. Practical.

That was not as easy as I thought it would be and I can’t help but wondering if my coworkers and board members would agree with my choice of words. I sure hope so! 1. this one was a challenge (like you, it’s been a very long time since I was interviewed!)…but fun! We’d be great co-workers; our lists have a lot in common!

  2. Guessing from the way you handle your blog and everything you do, I’m sure your coworkers would agree with these and then some! (As for me, thank goodness for retirement!)

  3. I wish there were more employees like you in the world! I’m skipping this week – my co-workers read my blog and I’m not up for the harassment that would follow! 😉

  4. My first thought was that you needed to include “creative.” Have a great Tuesday, Carole.

  5. My first word would be “lazy”. 🙂
Your words describe you perfectly! BUT, your first word should be “creative” as others suggested. xoxo

  6. I’m interviewing this week too and here’s another thing we have in common, lol. I have this question on my interview sheet and I tried answering it for myself….organized was my #1 and I had creative instead of smart…they are sort of the same, aren’t they 😉

  7. Oh my, that was hard work. I recently had an interview for the job I started at the beginning of July, I’m very glad I didn’t have to find ten ways to describe me.
    Hope the interviews went well.
