Three On Thursday

March 15, 2018 By Carole

You know what snow days are good for? Lots of hanging around the house. Here are 3 things I did while hanging around the house for the last two days:

  1. Took photos of the bluebirds at my feeder. Dale stocked up on meal worms for them and they fed heavily before and after the storm. I hauled out the big camera with the telephoto lens and everything, just for you guys.
  2. Knit and knit and knit on Jackie’s Baby Surprise Jacket. It’s soclose to being finished.
  3. Read. I finished Today Will Be Different (meh) and started Hum If You Don’t Know the Words, which I think is going to be fabulous.

I also dusted and cleaned, made a Shepherd’s Pie for dinner on Pi Day, put out a few Easter decorations, and caught up on some TV, including The Middle, Modern Family, and Grace & Frankie.

It was a very good two days.

Sounds like the very best kind of snow day. (If it’s gotta snow in March, it might as well be enough for a snow day, y’know?) XO

If you’ve got too much snow, it’s nice to have bluebirds, too! Even with mealworms, I can’t usually entice them to my yard until the end of April. Glad you enjoyed your snow days (and short week)!

I’ve never had a bluebird at my feeders. That’s a wonderful photo. Snow days can be fun but I need spring.

Lovely picture! And it sounds like you made the most of your snow days. I even briefly found myself thinking I’d like a snowday myself. Um, nope 😉

I am looking forward to 50F this weekend, but also feeling a bit envious of the snow day(s) (singular OR plural)!! Maybe next year… haha!!

Re: your review of Today Will Be Different: I seriously disliked Where’d You Go, Bernadette for the first 3/4 of the novel, but felt the book was redeemed by its final 75 pages or so. I found Today Will Be Different’s protagonist felt very similar to Bernadette and after a couple chapters decided that I’d already suffered through a whole book not particularly liking that character and didn’t need to repeat the experience, even if I might possibly like this character at the end of her book, as well.

I had a wonderfully relaxing snow day yesterday. I love your 3 Things!

Sounds like you had just the right balance of leisure and productivity. A very wise way to use 2 days off for snow.

We’ve seen neither snow nor bluebirds! You spent two snow days doing lots of great things! Would that every day could be/ was as relaxing and productive.
    Cheers~

I am so envious of your bluebirds. They just don’t spend much time in our small sized city. Sounds like you made the most of snow days.

Our rain has brought up loads of earthworms. Makes me wish I had a garden to put them in, also clearly I’m trying to c arch up n blogs while standing in line to board my flight. Multitasking too much?!
