Three On Thursday

This morning I am boarding a train with Jo-Ann for New York City! We have lots of ideas of things we will do and see, places we will eat and drink and more but it’s all pretty fluid . . . except for . . . you know what’s coming . . . THREE things we are definitely planning to do.

  1. Hamilton! Saturday night I will finally be in the room where it happened. To say I’m excited about this would be the understatement of, well, most of my life. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack to prepare myself and I’m not in the least bit worried that it won’t live up to the hype. I have had a fleeting thought along the lines of . . . what if I’m the ONLY person in the whole world who doesn’t love Hamilton . . . but I’m pretty confident that won’t be the case.
  2. The View. I didn’t even know Jo-Ann requested tickets for us to be in the audience of the taping of The View for Friday morning but she did and we got the tickets. We debated this one, actually, wondering if it would take up too much time, but I think it’s a fun opportunity. I mean, I haven’t been in a live studio audience since . . . okay, since never. The closest I’ve come to a live studio audience is when my brother was on Boomtown back in the 1970s. So yeah. The View. We’re doing it.
  3. Drybar. I’ve wanted to check out Drybar since the first time Liz mentioned it on the Happier in Hollywood podcast and I’m really looking forward to the experience. We have appointments for late Saturday afternoon so we’ll look all coiffed for Hamilton. I’m going back and forth between the Cosmo and the Cosmo-Tai. I’m truly open to suggestions from you all and my stylist at Drybar, too.

As I said, we have an entire list of other things like Katz’s Deli, The Tenement Museum, Radio City Music Hall and more but those three things are booked and we are committed. I’ll be back on Tuesday and if I need it ya’ll will send bail money, right?

As always, if you wrote a post for today please include your link below.

  1. Enjoy it all! You do make me laugh, wondering about the possibility of being the only person in the world who doesn’t love Hamilton. You may be talking to Joy Behar on stage if that happens!

  2. Have a great time. Report back on all your adventures.
There is a new Frieda Kahlo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum.

  3. Personally, I am jealous that you are maybe going to Katz’s Deli. Elder Son took us there in 2014 — yum! Oh, and I am jealous that you are seeing Hamilton. You will have SUCH A GREAT TIME!

  4. You need to so relax over the Hamilton thing. Trust me. You’re gonna love it. In fact, you’re going to be ready to see it again before it’s even over. And . . . I’d go for the Cosmo. The Cosmo Tai is just a bit . . . too straight. If you’re going for the DryBar treatment, go for loose curls and plenty of ’em!!! XOXO
(Can’t wait to hear all about it.)

  5. I guarantee that YOU WILL LOVE HAMILTON!!! It’s so great!

I had those same thoughts about seeing The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson when Ann & I were in LA a few years ago, but I’m so glad we did! It took a lot of time and was an interesting process — security and whatnot. They sprung a second taping on us, so we had a double-header! Bradley Cooper & Octavia Spencer were the guests! It was a cool experience. I probably don’t have to do it again, but I’m glad I did.

Hm. I’ve never heard of Drybar… and it’ll be 20 years before there’s one in my ‘hood! Haha. Have a blast, I can’t wait to see your ‘do.

  6. LOL, I’m having a good laugh at myself after reading your post. I’m obviously under caffeinated this morning. I kept reading that you were going to Jo Anne’s in New York – as in Jo Anne’s the craft/fabric store. I was super excited for you. A trip to the craft store is always fun but a NY craft store – exciting! And then I finally realized… Hope you have fun despite no craft stores being involved.

  7. Have a FABULOUS time! It sounds like there isn’t anything on your itinerary that isn’t amazing. You will love Hamilton! Looking forward to hearing all about your trip next week.
