Blizzard 2026 Photos

We interrupt our regularly scheduled Unraveled post to bring you updates from snow covered Southeastern Massachusetts.

This is my deck. You can barely make out the railing in the background on the right. Yeah. It’s a lot of snow. I think the official total for my town was 31″ but I’ve heard 34″ as well.

My Outback is buried under there somewhere.

Dale got his (new!) Toyota Tundra shoveled out and took this photo to emphasize just how big the snow piles are right now.

The snow in the backyard is so high that the birds don’t have to fly up to get bird seed, it’s at ground level even though the hooks they hang from are 4-6 feet tall.

And our house last night. Cozy and covered in snow. That’s a Kousa dogwood in the center of the yard, not a shrub. The trunk is completely submerged in snow.

I’m grateful beyond belief that we made it through without losing power.

  1. Talk about a snow-stravaganza!! Yikes! (but your house is picture postcard beautiful!!) I truly hope you have some help in snow removal… that’s a lot of shoveling!!

  2. Wow! We get those storms occasionally, but that would be one of our biggest ever. Glad you’re safe and have power. Kat is right, the photo of your house is postcard worthy.

  3. I’m glad you kept your power and just got to enjoy being snowed in! Here’s hoping some warmer weather heads your way soon so most of that stuff melts and you can get on with life — and that you don’t have to go anywhere in the meantime!

  4. I’m down in NJ (southwest part near Philly) and we got over a foot of snow. It’s rare for us to get more than my parents in the mountains of southcentral PA but this time we did.
I don’t mind snow and this was fine. If we had lost power I’d be singing a different story.

  5. That is one heck of a lot of snow, really way, way too much! The saving grace was that you didn’t lose power, so I suppose that is one positive aspect. We got 17″ from the storm and that was not fun, but not much compared to your monstrous amounts. Jackie may be playing in the snow piles in May!

  6. Oh my word! I was hoping you would share pics of this. That is an incredible amount of snow, and I can’t imagine how people are going to handle it if it doesn’t melt soon. Thank goodness you did not lose power! We are certainly getting more extreme weather events in the Midsouth where I live, but our precip is generally liquid or in the form of ice. It doesn’t come close to the beauty that your snow provides. That picture of your house would make a perfect Christmas card.

  7. So glad you are safe and cozy (with power). Thank you for sharing your amazing photos. Your house looks gorgeous in the snow, but I bet you are more than ready for it to be gone. I hope you have help with snow removal – don’t do too much and don’t let Dale do too much!

  8. I’m so glad you didn’t lose power! I am keeping my fingers crossed for some sunshine and warmer temps to help get all that snow melting soon.
