I could show you a photo of Hannah’s Waffle Pullover in it’s current state but it doesn’t look a whole lot different than it did one week ago. I’m sure you can use your imagination and picture the sweater looking about the same as last week with maybe just another couple of inches added to the length.

Instead, I’ll show you photos of our yard and the melting snow.

That’s the backyard. It’s gone done considerably over the last few days but there’s still quite a bit left to go.

And the raised beds. I like them a lot better when they are full of dahlias than when they are full of snow.

As for reading, last week I finished Kate Bowler’s new book, Joyful Anyway. And this week I started The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny, which has been on my TBR for ages.

What are you making and reading this week?

  1. That melting snow looks amazing! We had thunderstorms roll through this morning… and the sound was delicious! (Sadly, later today we have some crazy weather heading our way… which won’t be so fabulous and then tomorrow… snow!)

  2. Oh, my, Carole! That’s still a lot of snow. I hope it melts completely soon. Old snow can be … discouraging. It has been very warm down here, but crazy, stormy weather has been happening, and more to come today. You have been a very busy reader lately! I have a whole stack of books that I can’t seem to get into lately.

  3. Old snow looks so yucky, but it is better than getting new snow! We still have a couple big piles left after temps in the upper 70s. Today is our last warm day before snow tomorrow (but it’s spring snow, so it won’t amount to much). Keep knitting on Hanna’s sweater; it’s hard for me to imagine how anyone managed to bang this sweater out in February (or even why they might want to)!

  4. It’s amazing how fast that much snow can melt, given a couple of warm days. (Although I’m sure it doesn’t seem “fast” to you.) Maybe you’ll luck out with a rainy day or two — because that REALLY works wonders to melt piles of snow. Regardless . . . you’ll be all caught up to a typical spring before you know it! XO

  5. I am reading your posts M-F and knitting 4 little bunny-eared hats for Easter for granddaughter, her cousin, and her friends. Saw a cute hat from GAP, and thought, “I can do that!”

  6. I hope the thunderstorms we’re having today find their way up to you to help get rid of that snow soon! How did you like Kate Bowler’s book? I enjoy hearing her on one of the podcasts I listen to regularly (Kelly Corrigan Wonders) but have never read any of her books. I guess I always worried they’d be too religious.

  7. I really hope the 15″ of snow (up a couple inches since this morning) predicted for us this weekend is WRONG!! Ugh. It’ll melt fast… but not fast enough!
