We Will Remember

My first poppy of the season bloomed just in time for Memorial Day.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row

Enjoy your cookouts and please remember those who have gone before.

  1. A very nice tribute. May we always remember.

Beautiful poppy- I grew up in Greece and we had poppies in the meadows growing wild- kind of like a sea of poppies. Quite a sight to behold.

  2. Hey, I saw my first poppies of the season today, too. (Over in the Victory Gardens right here.) It’s a sign that summer is officially here. Now, we need some good summer thunder storms to reduce the humidity. Ahhh, New England…

  3. Incredible picture! At night? With a flash?
Such a good reminder. The poppies are not yet blooming around here, but the lilacs are in full bloom around town as well as all throughout the cemeteries.
