Honeymoon Memories

As I may have mentioned last week, today is our 9th wedding anniversary. I certainly can’t top last year’s post and I don’t want to bore you with another wedding photo so I’m showing you a different one.

This is my favorite picture ever of Dale and I. We are at the top of Mt. Battie and that’s Camden Harbor in the distance on the right. It was taken while we were on our honeymoon. We rented a house right on the water in Belfast, Maine and had a fabulous time. We gorged ourselves on lobster and scenery and relaxation.

Happy Anniversary, Dale. It’s been an amazing 9 years and I can’t wait to see what’s up around the bend.

Okay, enough of the mushy stuff.

I’m off on my little trip out west. The Everyday Cardigan and Lotus Blossom Shawl are both finished and going along for the ride. Thanks for all the well wishes! Please allow me to leave you with this song in your head because I haven’t been able to get it out of mine.

Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated
Nothin’ to do and no where to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated
Just get me to the airport put me on a plane
Hurry hurry hurry before I go insane
I can’t control my fingers I can’t control my brain
Oh no no no no no

See you all on Tuesday!

  1. Happy Anniversary! (any good notes this trip? Did he give you permission to bring home livestock? *g*)

Have a great trip – take lots of pictures and if you don’t, have a good excuse ;o) *hugs* Oh, and give Margene a hug for me – never met her but I can’t wait ’til I do :o)

  2. That’s a beautiful picture- you both look so happy! Feel free to mush with me about love and marriage anytime. And have a great time!

  3. Jesus, you two are a cute couple. Happy Anniversary and have a GREAT trip (although that last one? easy-peasy)

  4. Woohoo to you two!! Rock on grrlfriend. I think we’re going to get along famously…we dance to the same music;-)

  5. What romantics you both are! I read last year’s post as well and loved the photo of the whole family – been there too, it is probably one of your greatest accomplishments to still be married after surviving the “blendering”. See you tomorrow!

  6. Awwwwww. May the next 9 years be even better, if possible. (From personal experience: the first 25 years are the hardest.) Happy trails!

  7. Well geez! We also honeymooned in Camden. 🙂 Had to cancel our original plans, which I think I am going to post about, so I won’t get into it here–but we did end up having a really good time. I have never had such excellent chowder as the one they serve at the Villager.

  8. Too sweet for words. When my husband and I first got together, I remember us hugging so hard we couldn’t breathe and him saying he felt like he couldn’t get close enough to me. It was the first time I had ever felt that emotionally and physically in touch with someone, like we were trying to occupy each other’s molecules, know what I mean?

    So we got married. 🙂

BTW I loved your last year’s post.

  9. Congratulations Carole! You look like you are on top of the world (literally and figuratively!). I hope you two have lots of great adventures ahead as well. Hope your little trip is good.

  10. Happy anniversary, and have a fabulous time. Let me say two words: Marjean. Fleece. Alpaca. Wait. That was three. I know you’ll forgive me.

  11. I LOVE the way you write about your husband and your marriage. You two must have something absolutely wonderful. *sigh* Happy Anniversary!!! Hope you had a great time out west. 🙂

  12. Hi Carole-

Happy anniversary – didn’t realize we had something to celebrate this weekend. It was fun meeting you. Thanks for all the spinning advice & I hope you have a safe trip back to MA.

  13. That’s the ring tone on my phone. Great minds, eh?

I had a wonderful time in EP and it was so great to meet you. Hope to see you again in the not-too-distant-future. Have fun with the fleece!

  14. UGHHHH! That is one song that once it gets into your head it doesn’t leave. So now, I shall carry it with me all day long. I always associate it with “My So Called Life” which I used to watch with my son.

  15. Now I know why we did not see you at the annual Dale and the Duds summer kickoff concert last night – you are away! Here’s a possible new name for the group: Julia calls them “The Buds and the Duds.”
