Help Us Choose!

A few weeks back Hannah and I went to a local park to do her senior photo shoot.  I was really hoping we could get to the beach to do another set but the deadline for choosing the photo is fast approaching and I think we’ll just be going forward with what we have.

We have four good ones and we both have our favorites.  We’d like input from all of you, too.

#1 Hannah in the park by the wall

This is #1.

#2 Hannah in the park by the well

This is #2.

#3 Hannah's Favorite

This is #3.

#4 Carole's Favorite

And this is #4.

Do you have a favorite? Tell us what you think!

  1. My favourite is the first one, with the 3rd one close behind. In the context of what you want the picture for, I think number 3 would be the best choice. Beautiful pics.

  2. All of the pictures are just lovely but my favorite one is #3 with
    # 1 to follow. She is lovely Carole and you have to be so
proud of her. I hope she is enjoying her senior year.
BTW, thanks for the info on Rhinebeck.

  3. Still liking #4 the best. But not knowing her and what expression best demonstrates who she is makes it a tough call.

  4. I love the whole picture in #1. But it’s not close up. My favorite close up is #4. All very pretty though…

I didn’t know you had the option to take your own photos! How cool is that? Oy – all these things this freshman parent needs to learn!

  5. #3, then #4, then #1, and then #2. All are really great photos.
#3 and #4 seem to best capture a pretty smile and happy expression.

  6. I like #4 best. It is a lovely shot, and yet it also looks as though you might have just caught her in a happy moment, than a posed shot. I also think that in a smaller yearbook picture the shots where part of her face is slightly shadowed by her hair might not be as flattering. But she looks beautiful in them all.

  7. I like number 1 very much. Her shoulders in 2 and 3 look unbalanced (although of course they’re not, otherwise). She’s a beautiful girl.

  8. I think it’s #1 for me. The overall photo is lovely and you have a fuller shot of Hannah. And the light is nice on her face. Could you clip the photo a bit so she is relatively larger in the photo (like she is in the others)? Next up is #3, for the lighting on her face and her general expression, though like somebody above said, her shoulders are uneven, and also I feel like it got cut off because I can’t see all of her necklace/decolletage (not that I want or need to see that, it just seems like it’s cut off). Regardless though, she is gorgeous…

  9. I really like #3. I think that one will stand the test of time and she’ll still love it 20 years from now!

  10. All of the pictures are beautiful. Hannah could not take a bad picture anyway! But I think #3 is a very nice picture with the detail in her expression. Good luck choosing.

  11. I love #1 for the colors and the background waterfall, as well as Hannah looking lovely as ever. However, for closeups, I really love #3. It’s a great expression.

  12. I like #4 then #1. She is beautiful and you did a great job on all of them. Please don’t be offended, but is her bra strap showing in #3? #3 was my favorite, until I saw the pink but perhaps you could edit? I don’t know – it’s that dilemma “should I tell someone I just met she has spinach in her teeth?”, so I hope I haven’t offended you. If it was me, I’d want to know. Please accept my apologies if commenting on such in any way upsets you or Hannah – I truly am only saying to be helpful.

  13. My vote is for Photo #3, for the following reasons: The background in that photo is softer than the others, doesn’t have any distracting vertical lines to draw the eye away from Hannah; Hannah’s smile seems very natural and happy (it’s a great smile in all the photos, but seems best in #3); her hair is also at a great angle/drape in photo #3, close enough to her eye to appeal and draw the viewer in, but not distract.

  14. What a lovely girl!

#1 is my favorite, but #3 is a close second. It depends on where the photo is going. I’d probably use 1 for an enlargement and 3 for the yearbook.

  15. No. 1 is my favorite BUT I think 3 is the best one for the yearbook. I chose for myself something similar to No. 1 (but in ’70s clothing, haha) and it looks terribly dated now. So I say go for the simplest and most direct, and least likely to look dated in 15 years, which is 3.

  16. They’re all really great pictures and she looks wonderful in every one of them. That said, #1 was my favorite until I saw #4. There is something very sophisticated and inviting about that picture.

  17. I love them all! I think if you could crop #1 so it were more close-up, it would be perfect … otherwise I think either #3 or #4 … so indecisive. Truly, though, whatever is chosen, it’ll be perfect! Hannah is just beautiful, and all four photos bring out her beauty and inner warmth & goodness 🙂
