This gorgeous yellow dahlia is called La Luna. It's what is called a dinnerplate variety…
Eye Candy Friday
Not all of my macro shots are red, you know. And look how my lilacs are coming along. If only we had smell-a-blog so you could enjoy their luscious scent!
Have a great weekend!

sigh. lovely. I do wish we had smell-a-blog – lilacs are heavenly!
Oh that would make a wonderful scratch-and-sniff page. Beautiful shot!
Jealous! Love the smell of lilacs!!
I miss lilacs! I haven’t smelled that scent in years. They don’t grow here in the south. The closest thing we have is wisteria.
Oh happy days! Nothing is more pleasing in the spring than lilacs. We’ve done some severe pruning so I’ll be in short supply this spring here in Ct. I’m hoping to catch the lilacs blooming in Maine later this month 🙂 Happy weekend!
Pretty! Do you use the macro setting or a macro lens?
Beautiful shot – I can almost smell them. Happy Mother’s Day Carole!
Oh, thank goodness we don’t or I’d be sneezing right now. I love lilacs so much, but they don’t like me.
Beautiful photo. Reminds me of my mom’s house.
Your lilacs are a little bit ahead of ours. I’m watching and waiting!
I noticed my lilacs this morning while walking Daisy … gotta go smell them, didn’t want to get the dog too close LOL! Have a wonderful weekend 🙂
Oh, I wish! Maybe soon. I’m not a huge fan of floral scents, but lilacs and lilies-of-the-valley are at the top of my list of fragrances of any kind!
So pretty and robust. I wish I could smell them.
Oh they are lovely! I missed the smell of lilacs in springtime so much…I grew up in the Midwest but live in AZ now…no lilacs here! Thank you!!
Lilacs are my absolute favorite! I don’t actually have any in my yard. . . but my neighbor does! Her lilacs spill over my fence and into my yard. It’s almost as good as having them myself. 🙂
Love!
When I got married (about a bajillion years ago) the bridesmaids bouquets were lilac lilacs with ivy and mine was white lilacs, lily of the valley and ivy. The alter flowers were purple, gold and white iris. They were the prettiest flowers I have ever seen and the church smelled heavenly (pun intended).
You have a jump on us with the blooming. I can’t wait! I hope your weekend is packed with fun.
Pretty!
Lilacs are one of the best parts of spring. I have a struggling small bush near my deck–I can stand there and just drink in the smell. Enjoy your lilacs while ye may!
Lilacs! We’re a month behind here, so I still have lilacs to look forward to. The forsythias is still blooming. Unheard of in May.
Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers, I really love how they smell. I miss having them. Thank you for sharing yours!
