Before our road trip, I cast on for a new Musselburgh hat. My grandson, Patrick…
Wednesdays Are For Knitting
Let’s do a recap of the knitting 2015. It won’t take long.
I finished 1 sweater, 1 hood, 3 pairs of socks, 3 shawls and 1 cowl, as shown in a screen shot from my Ravelry page. And yes, I realize I don’t actually have finished photos of that Market Jacket sweater but trust me, I finished it and I wear it quite frequently.
It’s a good thing this is a hobby and not a job, right?
As hobbies go, clearly reading was more of a priority for me than knitting. This year probably won’t be any different but I am making a conscious effort to, you know, actually pick up my knitting.
So far it’s working, I’m halfway finished with the 2nd sock of this pair that I started back in November.
This knitter is on fire. Heh.

Ah, the eternal struggle between knitting and reading! I often repeat Margene’s mantra to myself … it’s the process. Your products are all quite wonderful!
I’ve been a little like that for a while. As soon as I committed to making a quilt it was like I had never seen so many projects I wanted to knit! We humans can be a fickle lot. I tell DH it’s good that I limit my infidelity to my hobbies. Ha.
Everything we do has a cycle. You are just more public about it. 🙂
So many things to do! The colors on those socks are spectacular!
Audiobooks perhaps?
And, on fire or not – your knitting is beautiful!
I haven’t been knitting as much lately as well. I am starting a new project today. Hope I stick with it! Your projects are beautiful by the way
What the heck is happening. You are have become me (knitting wise)!!!
Beautiful sock yarn. What is it?
It’s not the quantity, it’s the quality. You have some very intricate shawls there and they take some work. I love the colors in the socks you are working on now. Very cool.
And in response to your comment – ummm yeah…… can you believe these kids are married and pregnant at 21 years old? I think they were married at 19. My daughter is happy for them but said it’s not what she would want for herself at this age. Way too much to do before taking that step.
As long as you’re enjoying the process! Your sock is lovely.
Lovely colors in your socks – what yarn? (Beautiful photos as always!)
Beautiful projects, my friend. (And who’s counting?) XO
Looks like quality vs quantity-I so want to make the fox hood
Ha! That looks like my Rav page. 😉 I did a lot more sewing than knitting last year!
I have found that reading on my iPad with a stand allows me to knit anything in stockinette. Thank goodness for the Kindle app!
thank goodness for audiobooks or I’d get a lot less knitting AND reading done. I think you had a very productive year for someone with a real day job (and a life 🙂 … and I see you’re going to BANG OUT a sweater now. Looking forward to watching all the quick progress. I wonder how long it will take before the first FO appears!?!
