It seems like everywhere you turn these days someone is talking about trauma. And I…
Monday On My Mind
Home is what’s on my mind this Monday. As in, being home. After a week in Iceland, a handful of days at home, and then another week away on Cape Cod, it’s just good to be home. I know travel is something I have missed terribly due to the pandemic but, at the same time, I also got very very used to being home. I’m grateful for the privilege of being able to travel (safely, too) and I’m also very grateful to just.be.home.
Home . . . where I have all my stuff, not just the stuff I think I might need. And I don’t have to live out of a suitcase or pack everything up to move to a different location every few days.
Home . . . where I get to sleep in my own bed with my own pillows. While a king sized bed is a travel treat, I still like my own bed (and bedding!) best.
Home . . . where I have a kitchen stocked with the tools I love best. And I cook with gas and not electricity.
Home . . . where I can turn on the television and watch live news easily. I’m generally not a big tv person but I do like the news in the morning and the evening and I felt a bit disconnected in Iceland, where we never turned on a tv once, and on the Cape, where the tv in our rental didn’t have local cable.
Home . . . where I can blog and catch up with all of you!
It’s good to be home, friends.

Welcome back! If we’re lucky, home is a very good place to be.
I miss that so much – the lovely feeling of being home after traveling. I cannot wait for this – someday. Happy you had some lovely travels and time with family. Welcome back.
Lovely post. Followed the wedding in Iceland photos on Instagram – amazing!
And we’re glad to have you home! (I’m looking forward to a recap!)
It’s a beautiful space to be in…one of appreciating the adventure AND returning from it. Happy hunkering for a bit!
Home is definitely where the heart is for me, but I also miss having that reaffirmed by leaving and returning. I am so glad you are all back safe and sound after your adventures! You were missed, Carole.
Yes, to all of that!! Welcome home (for a while).
welcome HOME! I’ve been feeling a bit sorry for myself that “home” for me has been these same walls for months (and months) and the shift in perspective … about the bed (and the pillows!) and the coffee … thank you!
Welcome home!
I don’t always enjoy travel (mainly because I find the process of actually traveling to be so exhausting), but I will say that it does always make me appreciate being home more! I hope you are settling back and in getting rested from all those adventures.
Welcome home! I have missed you! XO
Yes, HOME! I can totally relate [right now], and the memoires made-priceless.
