Unraveled, Early December

Joining with Kat and friends today to show you what I’m knitting and what I’m reading.

First up, the knitting:

We are having our first snow of the season today and that made for a pretty backdrop for this photo of the socks I am currently knitting. Perfectly themed, the yarn is The Holly and the Ivy from Knitterly Things and the pattern is my standard picot edge socks.

As for what I’m reading, it’s The Bee Sting by Paul Murray. I am thoroughly enjoying this excellent story with wonderful writing.

Be sure and check in at Kat’s today to see what everyone is knitting and reading this week.

  1. Ooo! That yarn is gorgeous! (and matching knitting bag FTW!)

I hope you enjoy The Bee Sting! 🙂

  2. I’m sorry you’ve got snow but it does make a lovely backdrop for the bright colors in those socks. Enjoy the knitting, reading, and hygge around the wood stove tonight!

  3. How thoughtful of Mother Nature to send the perfect backdrop against which to photograph your festive socks!

I really enjoyed The Bee Sting. It’s a long one and a bit difficult at times, but wow, such a good book!

  4. Perfect background for those charming socks!!! Love to see your snowy scene. XO I’ve also got The Bee Sting in my hands. It’ll be the next book I start. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it!

  5. I LOVE that pop of green! Also…I peeked back at your Gnoah from November. Sweet guy–and I appreciated what you pointed out about smaller DPNs. Like with all things, what a difference the right tools make. And perhaps that’s why knitting wee bluebirds of happiness on 8″ DPNs was so stinkin’ stressful(!).

  6. What FUN socks. Love the pop of an unusual green for Christmas. I got The Bee Sting some months ago and started it…but it just didn’t seem to be for me (at least at that time). Hope you enjoy.

  7. love the new socks (even in the snow). and all the love for The Bee Sting – even maybe a little jealous you’re just now experiencing it. It’s a Top 10 of 2023 for me. maybe even Top 5.
