Wildcard Wednesday

It’s another dahlia photo and I suppose you’ll have to get used to that because it’s dahlia season and I intend to make the most of it!

The pink flower is Castle Drive and the deeper pink is Crème de Cassis, both new to me. The white one is Blizzard and that’s from a tuber I saved from last year. I won’t say the flowers are coming like gang busters just yet but there are lots of buds so I’m hopeful for full bouquets very soon.

Have a great day!

  1. Slow release flowers have their own joy. These certainly are gorgeous, even if not mighty in number. Thanks for sharing them with us.

  2. Your dahlias are so pretty! I like the one with “folded” petals like the white one, but they’re all lovely. I’m looking forward to seeing more of them.

  3. Thank you, Carole. Something to take with me through the rest of the day. Beautiful flowers made even more beautiful through your efforts.

  4. Is there a secret to cutting dahlias? I bought a lovely bunch in TJ’s and left all the leaves on in within a few days the leaves started wilting. I noticed none of yours have leaves on them. The colors are gorgeous.

  5. simply stunning! (and I’m pretty sure that any gathering of more than one bloom counts as a bouquet!)

  6. So pretty Carole. Just stunning! As you know, I’ve been disappointed in my lack of blooms…and now it seems the deer have eaten the top of the one plant that was growing buds. C’est la vie I suppose, but it is disappointing.

  7. Beautiful! And such fun names, too! I’m pretty sure you’ve just picked yourself a nosegay, even if it doesn’t quite reach bouquet status.

  8. My dahlia and zinnia tubers were all dug up by chipmunks this year – grhh! However what looked like irises turns out to be yellow gladiolus! They’re from the same genus, so now I have new ‘jolts of joy!’
