Posting knitting progress TWO WEEKS in a row? Who dis?

But yes, Dale’s sweater has grown a little, it’s now about 10 inches of ribbed edging and stockinette stitch. It’s great for television watching and I’m taking advantage of the cooler weather to continue to work on it before the summer heat forces me to put it away or sit directly in front of the AC. As a reminder, it’s this pattern and this yarn.

I’m currently reading I’ll Be Right Here by Amy Bloom, an ARC from NetGalley. It’s a short book (less than 300 pages) and I’m about 1/3 of the way into it. It hasn’t truly grabbed me yet but I see that coming, I think. It will be published later this month.

And I’m still listening to The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. I’m finding it immensely helpful as I navigate some difficult family stuff right now.

I hope you are making and knitting things you are enjoying this week!

  1. You are making great progress on Dale’s sweater! (but honestly, I am so over this weather… so over!)

  2. You’ve made lots of progress on Dale’s sweater! It’s supposed to be in the low 90s here for the next three days so I don’t know how long you’ll be working on a wool sweater but you’ve made a great start. I have a family picnic at the end of the month that I’m both looking forward to and dreading. There are a few people I want to see but a whole bunch that are the reason for my dread. I just got a copy of Let Them and I’m hoping it’s helpful.

  3. Well, it suddenly feels like summer here – as Bonny wrote, it is supposed to be in the high 80’s/low90’s for several days. Ugh. But, rain for Friday and Saturday, so that should cool things down a bit. Dale’s sweater is coming along so nicely. I just LOVE the color yarn you have chosen. I didn’t think I had ever ready anything by Amy Bloom, but now I remember reading White Houses and liking it.

  4. Lots of progress on the sweater, but it is about to get really hot down here, so I can’t imagine having that in my lap! Thanks for the reviews, Carole. I have marked Let Them as WTR. I have struggled with this mindset most of my life, but as I have aged, it has gotten a bit easier. It’s a habitual mindset, so it takes effort. I would say I hope things with the family get better, but in keeping with the attitude adjustment, I hope you find a place where it doesn’t matter anymore to either of you.
