Camping in Plymouth, June 2025

I have some pictures to share with you today of our caping trip last week. And I realized about half way through the week that I never even told you we were going. But go we did and we had a great time. The weather was all over the place, from comfortable days with low humidity to extremely hot days to chilly days where we needed sweatshirts and a campfire. As Forest Gump would say, you never know what you’re going to get. But mostly what we got was a good time.

We took the cats with us, but I only have a photo of Fred this time around. They really enjoy looking out the windows at all the stuff going on and they are (mostly) good although there is some meowing in the night I could do without. I did suggest to Dale that if we upgrade our camper I’d like one with a bedroom door next time.

We went to the beach at the campground a few times. Dale swam but that pond water is not to my liking. Now, I don’t mind a good pond, but this one in particular has a lot of iron ore from the surrounding area and there are too many weeds for me.

We had campfires, of course. And I tried the new trend wine trend sweeping the summer: adding jalapenos to sauvignon blanc. Or, Savvy B as the cool kids call it. I liked it and will keep doing it when I have jalapenos in the house.

We went out to eat once and had lobsters rolls along the canal in Buzzards Bay. These are monster rolls and so good and worthe price ($32) and the drive (30 minutes.)

I finished this crocheted plant and hung it in the camper. It’s now been moved to the camper bathroom (it’s pretty cute in there) because Fred and George thought it was a cat toy.

The kids came to visit on Dale’s birthday and it was chilly that day. We had burgers and dogs and cupcakes and a campfire and it was fun.

It was a really great week.

  1. I am really glad the weather somewhat cooperated and you did not get rained out! I really like your crochet planter! Genius! (but I did laugh at the cats thinking it was just for them! Maybe they need their own?)

Welcome back and I hope your work week is easy!

  2. Sounds like a great week Carole! I have not heard of Savvy B, but am adding fresh jalapeños to my shopping list!! I am betting I love it. Your lobster roll looks magnificent. And your crocheted plant is fun! Glad you had such a nice time.

  3. Sounds like a season’s worth of weather on this trip. Nicel offset by that glorious looking lobster roll and a birthday celebration. Happy birthday, Dale! I confess, given my crochet skills, I think my plant would be perfectly suitable for the kitties. Yours is charming and the right level of care for a camper. Welcome back! You were missed.

  4. It looks like a lovely week, Carole. That lobster roll has my mouth watering at 8 am – YUMMY. I can’t get those down here in the south very often. Yep, the cats meowing would be a downer, just as my dog whining in the night is a downer. Pets! But we love them, don’t we? Crochet skills are getting very good, Carole. Happy Birthday to Dale.

  5. What a great week! I think your crochet skills are really getting good if you can crochet a hanging plant/cat toy. I don’t think I’ll be putting jalapenos in my wine, but it’s always nice to know what the cool kids are doing. And that lobster roll – Yum!

  6. It sounds like you had a great camping trip! I like your crocheted hanging plant-what fun for your cats! I’m not sure about putting jalapenos in my wine, but that lobster roll sure looks good!
