Weekending, May 8th – 10th

I’m a day late in sharing my weekend, I had a hectic morning yesterday and had to be out of the house extra early and this post was the thing that got set aside. So here’s my weekend recap anyway.

It was good.

hahahaha.

On Friday night we hosted our monthly Fireside Fridays gathering. This is something new we started this past fall and winter, a way of keeping in touch with the . . . core group . . . of our Pergola Thursday crowd. The premise is pretty much the same as Pergola Thursday: show up, bring some food to share, and bring something to drink. As a hostess, it couldn’t be easier. And at a time when community really matters, it couldn’t be better.

Saturday was a day for reading and puttering around the house.

Sunday was Mother’s Day and it the weather was glorious. Hannah came over and made delicious cocktails and food and Jess joined us as well. We spent the entire afternoon and early evening on the deck.

Dale made a fire in the Solo Stove to ward off the chill and it was a really lovely day.

I also got my dahlia tubers planted and my fingers are crossed for good results this year although I’m not feeling as confident as I usually do given the state of some of the tubers. We shall see.

And that’s it for the weekend that was.

  1. Looks like a lovely weekend, Carole. Drinks, food, family, and downtime. Doesn’t get any better than that.

  2. What a lovely weekend! And those drinks sure look yummy. I hope that ALL of Monday was not hectic for you. Hectic days are never fun and hectic Mondays are the worst!

  3. That was a good weekend that included many of the things that make a good weekend – friends, family, food, and fun. And the next weekend is only four days away!

  4. What a fantastic weekend, Carole! I hope your tubers take off and provide a season of delight (for us as well as you!)

  5. Your weekend sounds just lovely. I like the idea of getting a group of people together in a stress free manner.
