Catching you up on life lately with a slide show . . . Treating ourselves…
Hello September

Dale woke me up this morning by singing Neil Diamond’s “September Morn” in my ear. It was a lovely welcome to start both the morning and the month, although it is stuck in my head now and perhaps yours, too.
Welcoming September is always a mixed bag for me. I am sad to see July and August in the rear window. And also, September is one of my favorite months of the year. I am missing the easy routine of summer mornings now that Dale has gone back to work. And also, I thrive best when I have routines and accountability. I am still reaching for skorts and sundresses and sandals, dressing to match the weather. And also, I am side eyeing my hoodies and Birkenstock clogs.
Even 35 years out from attending any formal school program, September still feels like the start of a new year. I am ready for it, but will be embracing it slowly, savoring the way summer lingers through much of the month. And keeping an eye out for signs of fall.

Same same, my friend. I’m always feeling bittersweet when September comes around . . . but also ready for a new season and a little more routine. Or . . . a different routine. Happy September!
I am nodding with Kym’s apt thought… definitely a different routine. Dare I say I am ready for “fall foods?” … I absolutely am! Ha! Happy September my friend… the school buses were chugging through the neighborhood this morning. All those sleepy faces! I hope they have a bus driver as lovely as Dale!
