Ten On Tuesday

This week’s Ten On Tuesday is “Ten Movies You’re Excited to See.” It’s no secret that I love movies so this was an easy list for me to write. Some of these movies are just coming out in the theater and some are from my Netflix queue and I plan on seeing all of them.

1. Sex and the City
2. Charlie Wilson’s War
3. Get Smart
4. The Savages
5. Atonement
6. Love in the Time of Cholera
7. The Jane Austen Book Club
8. The Happening
9. 27 Dresses
10. Leatherheads

What’s on your “must see” list this summer? Oh, and pass the popcorn!

  1. Can I warn you about Love in the Time of Cholera? There is a lot of sex scenes in that movie. I am a Spanish teacher and considering that it is one of the greatest works by a Spanish Speaking writer, I soooo wanted to show it at school. No WAY! It was still a good adult movie.

  2. I have The Savages at home now! I’ll send it over after I’ve seen it. 😉

I’m looking forward to Indiana Jones, Get Smart, Dark Knight, and the new Pixar. Oh, and this Norwegian movie called Reprise which just opened here looks amazing.

  3. I don’t watch many movies and I can’t remember the last time I saw one in the theater, but your #1 is on my list to see as soon as it comes out!

  4. Charlie Wilson’s War was good, but depressing.

We saw Prince Caspian last night and have tickets to see Indiana Jones on Thursday. After that, who knows?

  5. Sex and the City is my must see, but I’m afraid it will be a big letdown. All those product placement ads are worrying me, if you know what I mean…

  6. I definitely want to see Sex in the City and Indiana Jones. Was the Jane Austen Book CLub supposed to be good?
I’ve seen Atonement and Charlie Wilson’s War, and they were both excellent. Oh, and I saw 27 Dresses and that was good, but not surprisingly, formulaic 🙂

  7. Sadly, over the years we’ve fallen out of the habit of seeing movies, at least when they first come out. I don’t know if I could do this list, although I could probably do ten I never got around to seeing and probably should.

  8. the only one i really want to see on your list is sex and the city. oh and leatherheads. i love me some george clooney.

i have seen atonement — i give it an A-
and love in the time of cholera was good. 27 dresses was “meh”

  9. Great choices! I’m with you on all of them, except Love in the Time of Cholera, which is the only one I have seen so far. Worst and most shallow adaptation of a book EVER! Of course, nothing ever lives up to our imaginations. But then again, the only movies I want to see in the theatra this summer are Kung Foo Panda and the new Indiana Jones, haha. So consider the source, I guess….

  10. Sex & the City is a must and the Savages and 27 Dresses are on my list too but the biggies have to be the new Indiana Jones and possibly the Dark Knight.

  11. Indiana Jones!! Like, the second it comes out. If for no other reason than I can prove to my daughter tha “Indy” is not a rip off of the “National Treasure” franchise, and that Harrison Ford is SO worth the wait!

  12. I recently saw both “Atonement” and “The Jane Austen Book Club” and thoroughly enjoyed them both.

I read the novel Atonement and didn’t like it, so was surprised that the movie was as good as it was!

  13. The Jane Austin Book Club was so good! I didn’t think I would like it and I did! A lot!

Funny, I just rented 27 Dresses to watch this week-end.

  14. Indiana Jones!!
    can’t wait
My girlfriend and I went the 1st night the 2nd Indy movie came out and we were interviewed by the local news on what we thought — yes I’m that old

  15. That’s a wonderful list! Don’t you just love Netflix? I’ve seen 5 of those on your list and am counting down the days until the 30th to see Sex & the City. I’ve missed those girls!

  16. pass the popcorn indeed – thanks for adding a bunch to my list! My daughter just gave me a copy of “Juno” and told me that I HAVE to see it 🙂

  17. I saw the JA Book Club – it’s pretty good. The fun part was trying to see where her books played a part in the story.

I’d like to see Prince Caspian in the theaters as well as the new Indiana Jones (mmm…Harrison Ford).

  18. ::passes popcorn:: I’m a bit embarrassed to ‘fess up that I enjoyed Ironman. If you go, be sure to sit through the credits.

  19. You will love the Jane Austen Book Club and 27 Dresses. Have you seen P.S. I Love You? Awesome, but you might want to buy stock in Kleenex. The 2 movies on my list right now are Made of Honor and The Accidental Husband. I do love me some Jeffrey Dean Morgan, oh yes I do!! Have a good weekend!
