Stand Still, Hannah

Hannah was in a performance of “Into The Woods” last weekend.  She played Little Red Riding Hood and this required that she have banana curls.  As you may have noticed, Hannah has straight hair so achieving banana curls was no small task.  It took me an hour and a half to do her hair for each performance.  There were 3 performances.  That’s a lot of time with a curling iron!  No wonder I didn’t get much knitting done last weekend.

Anyway, once her hair was done I thought it would be fun to take some photos of her new ‘do.

Turns out she really liked those bouncy curls.

She jumped.

And twirled.

She just wouldn’t stand still.

Ahh.  That’s better.

She’s so cute! Your arms must have been very tired after the third time around. Yes the last pic is better- felt a wee bit nauseous with the first 3 lol.

Oh, wow. My hat is off to you – that’s quite an undertaking! Worth it, though – she’s adorable!

Ah…curling irons. Every time I use mine? I think of those old PERM RODS my mom’s generation suffered under. We’ve come a long way….

And Hannah, curls or no, is such a doll!
You’re a good mom; now go rest your arms!

The curls look great. That’s about the effort it would take to get my hair to curl. That or an act of God.

How stinkin’ adorable is she! Yeesh. And if she’s got her momma’s outgoing personality… the boys are in trouble!

Wearing a little smile from seeing your photos this morning. My girls went the opposite way, trying to get the curl OUT!

Well, you know, part of the fun of having curly hair is making them BOUNCE. It’s like wearing a skirt that twirls. You don’t have to spend all your time twirling, but every once in a while …

What a fun play to do in HS! :o )

(and what Deb said, curls are fun to bounce!)

I LOVE Into The Woods. What’s the most amazing thing to me is not that you managed to MAKE the curls, but that they stayed in for all that bouncing. I’ve done curls in Abigail’s hair (I must not have been as good at it as you) and they just fall flat in no time….

You have way more patience than I do. I can’t imagine spending that much time doing curls. She looks great with them though.

I have spent many an afternoon with curling iron in one hand, hair spray in another a I did my daughter’s hair for performances. And she has curly hair! But of course, they weren’t perfect so I still had to do the curling iron routine!

Hope she had great performances. What fun for her!

Thank goodness you were a teenager in the 80’s and had the curling iron skills.

Lovely, bouncy curls. I bet she was a wonderful Red! I always tear up during the applause at the end of a play. I so appreciate how much hard work goes into a show. Kudos to Hannah!

She’s so cute. They look kind of like something called jump-curls back when I was little.

My sister had to have jump curls so she could have hair like little Karen on the Mousketeer Show

She looks great with the curls. My mother wore those back in the day … only her hair is so curly that her mother just had to brush the curls around her fingers to get that Shirley Temple look. Lucky duck.
