Ten on Tuesday

The theme for Ten on Tuesday this week is 10 Guilty Pleasures on TV.  Thank goodness it isn’t a sports theme again.  TV is a subject I can get behind.

1. Everybody Loves Raymond.  I can watch the same episodes over and over again and I never tire of them.

2. Days of Our Lives.  I’ve watched this soap since I was a kid and even though I stop watching now and again something always draws me back.

3. The View.  No one argues hot topics like this bunch.

4. Ghosthunters.  My favorite part is when they turn off all the lights.

5. As the World Turns.  Another soap.  Pathetic, I know.

6. South Park.  I’ve kind of gotten out of the habit of watching this since it’s not on at a time that I tend to be looking for something to watch but it still cracks me up.

7. Alias.  I can watch season 1 over and over.

8. America’s Funniest Videos.  There’s nothing quite like seeing someone get whacked in the crotch to make you laugh.

9. Army Wives.  Just another soap, if I’m being honest.

10. Wife Swap.  Although, now that it’s not on Monday nights anymore, I don’t get to indulge.

I do watch a lot of television I suppose, but how else do you think I have time to knit all those socks?

  1. There are a lot of socks in that list! AS for me – and Law & Order or CSI – that’s 6 right there!!

  2. I like “The View,” too. It’s perfect because I like it, but if I chance to miss it, so what? How about “John Stewart” and “Colbert?” Admittedly, not as funny since they don’t have W to kick around any more. My current favorite – “Big Bang Theory.” And a brand new addition, “Make It or Break It” on Monday night. This is a teen soap based on gymnastics and, since we have a recovering gymnast in the house (she of the “other” gorgeous prom dress) we watch it together, our first shared mother/daughter hour in years.

  3. Oh, Days of Our Lives…I have some very happy memories with that one. My grandmother used to babysit me in the summer while my parents worked. We’d spend every afternoon with big bowls of neopolitan ice cream, watching Days of Our Lives, The Doctors, and Another World. Sure, grandma was a failure by today’s nannying standards, but oh, how I loved that.

  4. Now here’s something funny…………….. I have never ever seen a single one of those 10 shows…… (and I used to watch TV with my ex… he had it on ALL the time.) Bizarre, eh? 😉

  5. Oh wow – “Days of Our Lives” – even if it has been YEARS since you last watched, Stefano DiMera is still being incredibly devious! And Marlena Brady is still having babies at the age of 82 or something …

    Good list!

  6. I love that train wreck of a show “the real housewives of orange county”

  7. Good list, Carole.

I remember watching Days of Our Lives in jr high and high school. I bet I could return to it today and remember a lot of those characters. Is that good or bad? *L*

  8. I was a big GH fan in college, and I did watch ATWT for a while. Once in a blue moon we catch AFV; apart from that I’ve never watched any of these. I have my own guilty pleasures, though: I could watch M*A*S*H reruns all day long.

  9. Ohhhhhh, now I get it. Heh-heh-heh.

I hardly watch ANY television. Perhaps I should — it might be good for my knitting. 😎

  10. I’m with you on #1 and #3. I also find myself watching reruns of House when nothing else is on (which is often)!

  11. Alias is my favorite too.
My favorites are Alton Brown on the food network (cause he’s sciency) and How I Met Your Mother (its a somewhat new show on CBS).

  12. I do not want to think about how many years it has been since I watched Days!

So, no TV explains why I don’t churn out socks the way you do. Hmmm. No, no, I’m not buying a TV just to increase sock production!

  13. wife swap? really? j loves that show and i abhor it. i leave the room when it’s on. i don’t think we can be friends anymore 😉
