Thankful Thursdays

The other day I was reading Kate’s blog and she mentioned that, in the spirit of thankfulness, she would be posting 3 things she is thankful for each time she posts during the month of November. Her idea inspired me to start Thankful Thursdays – a weekly post about being thankful. I’ve invited some friends to join me so you may see these posts popping up a bit. I think it will help all of us remember that we have much for which to be thankful.

This week, and every day, really, I am thankful for:

1. My husband, Dale.  He loves me and supports me and tolerates my moods. He reads every blog post I write and admires every picture I take. He loves my hobbies and my friends and even my cat. I cannot imagine life without him.

2. My daughter, Hannah.  I love her fiercely and I’m grateful every day that I get to be her mom. She’s one special kid.

3. My stepchildren, Brant (and his wife, Heather), Jessica, Luke and also my stepgrandchildren Patrick and Ambrynn. It wasn’t easy blending our families but these kids accepted me because of the one thing we’ve always had in common: loving Dale. I never thought I’d have such a big, crazy, loving family but I do and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

I hope thinking about the things you are thankful for makes your day a little better.

  1. Thank you for the pleasure and inspiration you bring into my life each morning. Have a peaceful Thursday!

  2. I like your Thankful Thursdays idea. A great opportunity to examine our own blessings in life. I think we tend to forget them when life gets busy and stressful. I’ll be pondering mine. Thank you.

  3. Awww.

When I was posting daily I used to do a thankful post once in a while, usually in the form of six or seven on Sunday. Three Thankful Thursday Things is a terrific idea: it’s always easy to come up with three blessings in my life.

  4. What a great idea. I tried to do 52 weeks of gratitude 2 years ago but my pregnancy exhaustion got to me and I never finished. I think I will join you and go post to my blog now!

  5. What a great idea! I think that in these troubled times, we dwell all too often on what’s wrong rather than what’s right. You’ve inspired me … I’m off to post my own “Thankful Thursday” on my own blog 🙂

  6. Great idea Carole. I might post Thankful Thursdays myself on my blog for the month of November. It’s a great idea to get out of the negative attitudes that can creep in from time to time. And a good way to focus on the important things!

  7. Great idea Carole – made me stop and think of the things I am thankful for. I need to this more often. thanks!

  8. Nice post…it made me think of all the things that I am thankful for. Sometimes it takes a suggestion to do that, thanks for that!

  9. I actually remembered to post BEFORE coming over to read yours. Wonderful idea. I really like the way you have water in the background of each photo — it makes the quad work especially well. Hope H’s college search is going smoothly. DD keeps finding a school with the right programs but the wrong professors, or vice versa. Haven’t found a good fit yet.
