Ten On Tuesday

January 20, 2015 By Carole

When life is hectic and crazy, when work is stressful or overwhelming, it really helps to focus on the good things that are going on. Honestly, it’s always helpful to focus on the good things and that’s why this week’s Ten on Tuesday topic is 10 Things I’m Happy About Right Now.

drying socks for carole knits

  1. The Patriots are going to the Super Bowl!
  2. I’ve returned to running. I know – again. It seems like I get to this point over and over and never break through the interval part to actually get to the all running part. But now this time – I’m happy with running and I’m going to keep pushing those intervals until I can run for an entire 30 minutes.
  3. The Oscar nominations. There are some great movies on the list this year. You know I’ll be talking about them more in the weeks to come.
  4. Long weekends. Mondays off make me very happy.
  5. My One Little Word choice. I don’t know if it’s the word or if it’s because this is my second year of doing this but I find myself thinking about it a lot and really using it as I move through my days.
  6. Reading. I have been reading some really great books lately.
  7. Handknit socks. Mine are all clean right now, as evidenced in the photo above.
  8. Parks and Recreation is back. I love this quirky show about people who work in town government.
  9. The iPhone 6. While I don’t love the bigger size, I do love that I can see it better. And it’s nice to have a phone with lots of GB so that I can have plenty of apps without slowing it down.
  10. Mango Languages. My library has a subscription to this and I’ve been using it to learn Spanish in advance of this year’s trip to Mexico.

And I will leave you with this: Que tenga un buen día!

That is a wonderful collection of handknit socks and would certainly make me happy, too. Espero que tengas un maravilloso día Carole!

I’d be happy if I had that many hand knit socks clean and ready to wear. Great picture! Yay for your Pats.

Our lists have a few happy things in common! I love the fact that my phone isn’t struggling due to low space. You’ll be able to run 30 minutes before the Spring – you can do it!

You have lots of good things to be happy about! Good job on the running and staying with it.

There are always things to be happy about — it’s nice to have the opportunity to reflect on that once in a while. (Thanks for that!) I am happy about your running . . . but you already know that. XO

Hola! I’ve been learning Spanish in my car — thanks to my library and Overdrive!! We’ll see…

We are all rather sad, disappointed, and deflated over here in Packerland, but I am happy that you’re happy about your team!

Love all those knitted socks! This was a great prompt and it’s always a good thing to stop and take stock. Thanks for the nudge.
    Cheers~

The bigger screen on my Galaxy is a lifesaver for my middle-aged eyes. I’ve gotten used to the size and don’t notice it anymore.

Have to love those Pats! We have several “happy things” in common – also love the return of Downton Abbey and the household “purge” roll that I’m on – so many things to be thankful for…life is good!

…and there I was thinking the whole topic had been inspired by your #1! I just posted my own list – and it’s really hard to be *not* happy when you have to list 10 happy things. this was a great way to start the week!

My running history was similar to yours. Finally, I teamed up with friends who lived nearby and ran regularly!

If there’s one thing the pandemic has been good If there’s one thing the pandemic has been good for, it’s my sourdough game. I actually started learning about making sourdough bread a week before the stay at home orders thanks to @sprboston as he shared his starter and recipe and technique with me. Since then I have kept Mama Cass fed and alive and have baked many loaves of bread. This one might be my best one yet. I did the final proof in the fridge for 24 hours and baked it from its cold state.
