Ten On Tuesday

Remember those poems you wrote as a kid? The ones where the first letter of each line of the poem spelled out a word? Acrostic is what they are called and I can distinctly remembering writing one of these for my mom on Mother’s Day. Anyway, I had this idea to sort of take the acrostic concept and adapt it for a Ten On Tuesday topic. Today I want to know 10 Words that Describe You and all 10 words need to begin with the first letter of your first name. Ready?

me at age 6. I figure a post like this one definitely deserves a throw back photo

  1. Crafty. From the time I was a little girl I have always wanted to make something.
  2. Cute. I’m 50 but I’m still holdling on to this one with all my might.
  3. Courteous. Polite to a fault, some might say.
  4. Caring. Especially when it comes to my family and friends.
  5. Competent. 30 years doing the same job will get you this one.
  6. Complex. I’m a woman, after all.
  7. Confident. Mostly. Definitely about work and leadership opportunities. Not always about my appearance but I’m a work in progress.
  8. Cheerful. Almost always. It comes from living with the happiest guy in the world, it just sort of rubs off.
  9. Content. It’s the secret to a happy life and I embrace this wholeheartedly.
  10. Cool. I do drive a Mustang convertible, you know.

I had Dale help me with this list because otherwise I’d also have to include the word conceited. And, just as note, Dale thought this was a pretty clever topic. I crack myself up. Okay, okay, I’ll cut it out. bwahahahahahaha.

  1. I can’t even think of 10 words that start with K! Except Knitting, of course. And since I do that so much maybe that’s all I need…

  2. Oh my, a tough one for me. I haven’t come up with ten, but here is a start:

    1. I’m a Virgo
    2. Veggie lover – not vegetarian, but I do love my veggies.
    3. Voracious appetite – not just for food (though, of course, that’s included), but also reading, exploring, learning, etc.
    4. Vino drinker – oh yeah!
    5. Veranda lounger. My grandmother always called her porch a veranda…I loved lounging there in the morning with coffee and in the afternoon with a book and cool beverage.

    V is a tough letter!

  3. You truly are clever and commendable when it comes to topics, blogging, and art. You are a consummate friend, truly caring and considerate. Thank you for being a friend. xo

  4. You almost look the same now as you did when you were six! Except your teeth are better now πŸ˜‰

  5. Oh boy, I am struggling with “j”. This was not as much of a blog post as an assignment lol.

  6. Thoroughly enjoyed your list…clever and humorous and a cute pic of you, too! And enjoyed the prompt…stretched me!
    Cheers~

  7. Think I’ll go with G (since V has already been done ;->) — and, like a good cataloger, they’re in alphabetical order…

Gabby — yup. I admit it; it’s hard to shut me up sometimes.
Generous — sometimes too much ;-> No is a hard word!
Giddy — What can I say? I get emotional ;->
Glittery — Did someone say glitter? Where?
Gnarly — I met my husband in the 1980s while rock climbing. Did I say it was the 80s?
Goofball — that’s a no brainer! I got it from my mom – when the laugh turns uncontrollable!!
Graceful — all those years of dance lessons, you know…yah, maybe not so much…
Gracious — sometimes with my teeth gritted ;->
Graphic — (NOT graphical! ;->) Close as I could get to crafty…
Gutsy — I’m always willing to try something new!

  8. Great list! I gave up on this prompt the second I saw it; K was just too hard.

I hear ya on living with a cheerful guy — it DOES rub off!

  9. It’s simple – every Tuesday pick up 10 pieces of litter and chunk them in the trash or toss them into a recycling bin. Pick up 10 at a time, 2 at a time or go the extra mile and pick up even more. In fact, don’t feel limited to just pick up on Tuesday! Celebrate your sports victories by having each member of the winning team pick up 10 pieces of litter
