Books for Baby

A very special member of my library staff is expecting a baby very soon. And when librarians throw a baby shower, well, it’s only natural that it revolve around books.

If bacteria become resistant to antibiotics, treatment becomes difficult, even impossible. The crops grown Miami Beach https://abliance.com/services/purification-marquage-fragmentation here can provide food, fuel, clothing and many other items of daily use. You need to be sure that your doctor knows which meds you’re on, and how effective they are.

Board books. Goodnight Moon from me because I read that to Hannah every single night for years.

And book themed food like these green deviled eggs for Green Eggs and Ham. There were also meatballs for Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and so much more. I have a really creative staff.

Speaking of creative, check out this book cake made by another woman who works at the library with us. So adorable! I love all those book titles and the colors are just perfect.

We had a fun night showering our colleague and friend with lots of love for her new baby. He’s bound to be well read!

  1. I LOVE IT! I read Goodnight Moon to Katie, too – I think I can still recite the entire book … which comes in handy for long walks!

Katie didn’t have a book-themed shower, but she did get a lot of books – and for a guest book, we all signed The Day the Crayons Quit. Now when Charlie “reads” the book, he also gets to hear all the well wishes from his mom’s friends and family. (I’ve also been to a shower where the theme was The Very Hungry Caterpillar and that book was the guest book.)

  2. Creative and fun! I always liked that the Runaway Bunny appears in Goodnight Moon, and am happy to see The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Stinky Cheese Man decorating the table. What a great shower!

  3. Avid readers tend to have creative imaginations, IMO. Y’all prove that theory and look ready to pass it on to the next generation. What a great welcome for a new little guy.

  4. This is so wonderful! I love the checkout cards that are tucked into each gift book. I know digital receipts are more efficient but I used to love looking at the cards and seeing who had read the books before me, when I was a kid.

  5. I LOVE this! Perfect in so many ways. When my friend’s daughter was pregnant, one of the books she got was “go the f*ck to sleep” which I had never heard of! Thinking that is more for adults…

  6. Books are such a big part of our family. We had Goodnight Moon too-still do somewhere! I remember doing green eggs and ham for PJ when he was little. The whole book theme [food, cake and all] shower-wonderful and fitting.

  7. Books FTW! No matter what I give as a baby gift, there is always a book in there, too. Usually, The Going to Bed Book by Sandra Boynton. Smokey and I can both recite the entire thing.
