Three On Thursday

October 15, 2020 By Carole

Between the news and the virus and the general dumpster fire that is our world right now . . . I could use a laugh. I’m hoping you could too because today I’ve got 3 fall themed memes that I think will make us all laugh. Because, really, at this point, what else have we got to carry us through?

Yes, pumpkin spice really is everywhere. And I honestly don’t get the thrill.
No humidity. No static electricity. It’s the perfect time of year for hair.
Yes. Pumpkin Spice cologne is definitely too much!

Happy Fall y’all!

That last one cracks me up. I’m not a huge pumpkin spice person and dislike that it’s in everything. I do make some Spiced Pumpkin scones that are 10x better than the hockey puck I was served at an unnamed behemoth coffee shop. And Pumpkin Bars with cream cheese icing are a fall requirement, but we stop there.

I’m not a big fan of pumpkin spice flavored things, but I do look forward to baking pumpkin pies and enjoying them with whipped cream. (A local garage is offering a pumpkin spice oil change!) Thanks for the laughs this morning!

The first one gave me a good laugh — but I had to explain it to my husband (who apparently hasn’t seen Forrest Gump in a while)!

I love the idea of pumpkin spice everything but not so much the taste of it.

So funny…thanks Carole 🙂 I generally have one pumpkin spice latte a season and that’s about it. Looks like I’ve got two weeks to go as you know they’ll be switching immediately to peppermint, gingerbread and Christmas come November 1!

Haha. I was walking through the grocery store yesterday and every time I turned my head, there was a pumpkin spice something… bagels, coffee, cereal. Ugh. Not my thing, either.

I’m not a fan of “pumpkin spice everything”, but I do enjoy pumpkin pie, savory pumpkin garlic soup, and pumpkin chocolate chip muffins!

I really like to bake pumpkin muffins, quick bread, and pies, but IMHO, it has its place. NEVER in coffee! I
just don’t get it either. Thanks for the laughs, Carole!

I’m with you, Carole. I am sick of pumpkin spice already and it’s only October.

Pumpkin anything is not my thing, but pumpkin spice is just a travesty of nature! Thanks for the giggles!

If there’s one thing the pandemic has been good If there’s one thing the pandemic has been good for, it’s my sourdough game. I actually started learning about making sourdough bread a week before the stay at home orders thanks to @sprboston as he shared his starter and recipe and technique with me. Since then I have kept Mama Cass fed and alive and have baked many loaves of bread. This one might be my best one yet. I did the final proof in the fridge for 24 hours and baked it from its cold state. Great spring and ear and crumb, it was delicious with dinner tonight. #sourdough #sourdoughbread #lookatthatcrumb #lookatthatear #homebakedbread #imadeitmyself #homemadeisbest
