So the thing with SPA is, other than whatever fiber craft you choose to pursue,…
SPA, The Second Time
Hello! I know I’m at little late posting today but I have a couple of good excuses. First of all, it’s a holiday and I don’t have to work so I slept a little later than I normally do. And second of all, I was away at SPA all weekend and I haven’t prepared my post yet. So, I’m late.
But, I had a wonderful time at New England Textile Arts annual gathering that’s affectionately known as SPA. I met up with old friends and made new ones, too. I spun a lot and bought some beautiful new fibers. I drank martinis and beer and ate Mexican food. Like any gathering of fibery friends, it was a fabulous experience and it sort of defies description. Most of you have done stuff like this, though, so you know what I’m saying.
I promise to regale you with stories as the week goes on but for now I’m going to have some coffee, catch up on some emails and blogs, and do a little more relaxing and spinning.
I’m just not ready to return to reality yet.

I’m experiencing a fairly bumpy reentry myself. It was great to see you, however briefly. These things are always too short.
I can hardly wait to hear more… Lucky you, having a holiday to recuperate.
I can’t wait to hear your stories. Next year I’m staying at the hotel for the whole weekend! No more trying to multi-task on SPA weekend!
I don’t blame you. I love that kind of weekend, but it does usually takes a while to segue back into real life. Looking forward to hearing all about it!
Have a GREAT day…Enjoy your day off!!!
I know EXACTLY what you mean! Try to stay in that magical place for as long as you can because all too soon, life starts to creep back in! Thanks to the presidents, Kathryn has the day off school, which means I get to go snuggle in bed with her for a while!
am looking forward to seeing what you got! I still haven’t done anything with the stuff I got at Rhinebeck.
Glad you had a good time at spa. Can’t wait to hear more about it.
I’m so jealous! Next year I have to go for sure.
Sounds like you had a great time. Can’t wait to hear all about it. BUT, it is a Holiday and time to relax, knit and not worry about the blog or anything else.
…er….in other words, you’re hung over? 😛
It’s too soon to talk about it all, isn’t it? It WAS fun! It was great to see you all this weekend!
I look forward to hearing about it! Glad you had fun!
Can’t wait to hear a full report! Enjoy the downtime. 🙂
Hey! I’m fulling supportive of prolonged escapes from reality! The longer, the better!
That being said, I’m looking forward to some serious vicarious stash enhancement whenever you’re ready!!
It sounds like a great time. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Can’t wait to hear all about it! Fibery weekends are the best!
I hear ya! We only went for one day/night – more next year for sure. I am having a little guilt because my camera never got into the light of day this weekend. This was my first SPA and it was great. Can’t wait to see what you were up to.
I’m looking forward to the SPA reports this week! And don’t worry… you have all day to take deep breaths and let out mournful sighs and lament the end of the special time you had with knitting and blogging friends. 🙂
Hi Carole,
It was nice to meet you at SPA! I’m already looking forward to next year!
So glad it’s a holiday; I also need the day to adjust to returning to real life.
It was a great weekend and great to meet you 🙂
So glad you got to go! I am looking forward to stories…
7:27 am means you slept in?
Yes, we have those get-togethers in the West, but not nearly as often. Sounds like fun.
I lurked a bit at spa…bought some stuff in the vendor’s room (not much), was amazed to see spinners EVERYwhere!!! Maybe next year I’ll try to mingle and meet more folks.
Welcome home! Can’t wait to hear about it. Next year, I am so there!!
Reality is very overrated.
*sigh* ;o)
and yes……”What the Hull?????””
