This gorgeous yellow dahlia is called La Luna. It's what is called a dinnerplate variety…
Eye Candy Friday
I got a lot of photographic mileage out of the bouquet of flowers my sister-in-law brought me last week. I truly love having fresh cut flowers in the house all the time but in the winter it’s especially wonderful. The photo was taken specifically for admission to the Flickr Friday group as an entry in this week’s theme: Getting Closer. I couldn’t get much closer than I did, I can tell you that.
And here we are at the weekend again. Let’s make it a good one!
Also of note: it’s finally the last day of January. Hoo-freakin-ray!

Great macro shot. I like having flowers around too. So cheery.
up close, it’s hard to tell what it is – but you can still tell it’s a cheery yellow! happy Friday!
It’s amazing how different a flower looks from up really close! Happy weekend 😀
It almost looks like knitting. I am endlessly fascinated by the repetition of patterns and forms in nature. Powerful to see this in a new way.
Daisy? Mum? Maybe sunflower? You’ve got me wondering now. 😉
Happy happy weekend!
Very cool picture! Flowers are so nice to have around with all the grey in our days. And yes – let’s hear it for February! Have a great weekend.
Happy Weekend!!
So happy it’s FRIDAY, as well as the last day of January.
Hoo-freaking-ray is RIGHT! Flowers inside are such a treat — and especially this (never-ending) winter. Happy weekend!
