Can you handle another hellebore photo? I hope so because that's what I'm sharing with…
Eye Candy Friday
The beautyberry is thriving this year, and loaded with purple fruit. It’s an amazing change from last year, when it really struggled and didn’t grow . . . like many of my flowers and container plants. I’m not making excuses but let’s just agree that I had enough to take care of last summer with Dale’s injuries and the garden was a tad . . . neglected. This year, though, everything has done so well. It just goes to show that plants, like people, need care and attention. They can do okay for a while if they are ignored, but eventually you need to invest your time to make them grow.
There are lessons in the garden, my friends.
Happy Weekend!

Beautyberry is aptly named! Have a good weekend, Carole! It looks like it might be a chilly autumn one.
Thank you for teaching me the name of this plant! I have seen some in my neighborhood and marveled at the color of the berries.
I am not familiar with beauty berry, but it is stunning! Have a great weekend, Carole.
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen this plant before, and it’s lovely. Yep, we all need care to thrive, but a lot of things that need care can survive for a time if we need to focus on more important things. Both parts of this are true about care for us, too.
Gorgeous! I just love the color of the berries! (and yes, there are lessons AND answers in the garden!)
The color of those berries is just amazing! Have a wonderful weekend, Carole!
so true. and also, I realized on my walks this weekend that I haven’t seen any beautyberry … and I miss it!
I love Beautyberries. Yours is doing much better than ours though.
This is so pretty! I have never seen a Beauty Berry! Last year was a challenging one for so many of us, so it’s ok, you were gifted with prosperity in your gardens this year. ??
This! So true… I actually judge the status of my relationship by what my garden looks like… if we are working well together, if I’m happy, the garden reflects that. If we are not, the garden suffers. If you neglect your people, or your garden it certainly shows….. every day….. take care of the weeds, water, prune, hug, kiss…… so very, very important. Hmmm.. can you tell you touched a nerve? When the rain stops I’ll have to go check on my beauty berry. 🙁
