Summer Weekends, May 31-Jun 2, 2024

Welcome to my summer of blogging! Each Monday (unless I’m on vacation) I’ll be sharing photos and memories of the weekend . . .

After years (years!) of wanting a Nespresso, I finally ordered one for myself last week. The final push was having a latte with my friend Anne while camping (errr, glamping) last weekend as she has a Nespresso in her camper. It was so delicious and they were on sale for Memorial Day weekend and I did it. Truly, my hesitation had been mostly related to space issues but I’ve set it up on the sideboard in our dining room and so far it’s working perfectly. And the iced coffee is perfection.

The weather was perfect this weekend and we spent a lot of time on the deck. I took this photo of Dale on Friday evening. I love that he’s representing the Chicago flag with his t-shirt and the original Maine flag with his hat.

I made smash burgers on the Weber Traveler. I should have been making them on the brand new Weber Genesis but it’s being problematic. Weber has sent me a fix and I’m hoping it will solve the problem. I’ll report back.

I read on the deck on Saturday morning. There’s one corner where we have shade until around 10:30 and it’s lovely.

More deck time on Saturday night. It was still light at 8:45pm and I just love that so much.

And Sunday night found on this deck once again, this time with pizza in the Ooni. I tried a new-to-me sourdough crust recipe and I was not happy with it. I think I’ll go back to my tried and true pizza dough instead. And yes, I do have trouble making a circle.

I hope your weekend was a great one!

  3. Aack! Now I’m hungry! LOL Saturday was GORGEOUS here and I noticed it was still light out sometime after 8:30 p.m. too. Love that aspect of summer.

  4. That pizza LOOKS delicious! Here’s hoping that not having a circular pizza crust is the worst of your problems this summer!! 😉

  5. Looks like it was a delicious and relaxing weekend! (I think circles are overrated. As long as the pizza is good, I don’t care what shape it is!)

  6. What a great collection of photos and glimmers from your weekend, Carole! Looks like summer is off to the best kind of start! XO
