Summer Weekends, July 12th-14th, 2024

The summer vibes were in full force this past weekend as Dale and I headed to New Hampshire to visit our friends Jo-Ann and Shawn at their lake house. We had a terrific time! There’s nothing like being able to jump into the lake to find relief from heat and humidity.

Their house is right on Lake Winnipesaukee and those big windows provide great views of the lake and local wildlife. I saw a deer, a great blue heron, plenty of hummingbirds, and a pair of loons.

We swam all 3 days and even floated around in the lake for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon. The water temperature was perfect, it was cool without being too cold and it felt so nice.

There was also an awesome boat ride. We went to get gas and ice cream and our timing was not great as it started to rain just as we pulled away from the dock. But we were all in at that point and I, for one, love a thrilling boat ride! After gas we motored over to get some ice cream and by then the sun had come out and it was just lovely.

I’m so glad we managed to find a weekend that worked for all of us, it had been way too long since we had spent time at the lake. It definitely won’t be so long before we go again!
