Today I have 3 recent photos of Fred and George to share with you. They…
Three On Thursday
It’s August, the final full month of summer and that right there feels a little bittersweet. Here are 3 things I’m looking forward to this month
- Another week of camping, this time with our kids and grandkids. It’s so fun to be with all of them at the beach and around the campfire, going for rides in the golf cart and getting ice cream, playing games and telling stories and laughing. So much laughing.
- Picking dahlias. I have lots of buds and one in particular is very close to blooming. I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for this.
- More Pergola Thursdays. We will have 3 weeks in a row (weather permitting) starting tonight and I’m very glad. I truly enjoy this very casual gathering of neighbors and friends. The talk is always interesting and I appreciate and enjoy the company of everyone who joins us.
What are you looking forward to this month?

Here, August makes up for being the end of summer by being so hot I’m less sorry to see it leave.
I think your pergola evenings sound like a perfect punctuation at the end of a week. Hope the weather cooperates for you.
Your August looks like it is shaping up to be a great month! I’m looking forward to getting out walking more (weather permitting), which probably means early morning which is fine with me. And, today (the 1st) I will start a couple of new knitting things!!
I am excited to see your dahlias! I am hopeful of a bumper crop of cherry tomatoes (my big tomatoes were an absolute bust this year… sigh) and a new month means a new stitching project!
August . . . always inspires me to cram in as much “summer” as I can! Enjoy all the days of this often too-short month. XO
That sounds like a fun camping trip! I love that dahlias are beginning to show up on my IG feed! Your Pergola Thursdays sound delightful.
I am looking forward to spending more time with Maddy & Viv (and the rest of my family) before they go back Down Under! And a printing/collage workshop a little later in the month to distract me from their leaving.
We have our White Mountains vacation coming up which is always great. Your camping trip sounds so wonderful. 🙂
I will keep my fingers crossed that the weather cooperates and you’re able to spent a lot of time out in the pergola. You’re lucky to have such a beautiful place to spend time and host friends!
I feel a little sorry to see August leave every year, but I must admit it is too hot and humid here to enjoy anything outside unless you enjoy sweating and feeling overheated. And September is generally my favorite month of the year. Your pergola soirees sound wonderful. Hope the weather is as good as the company.
Sounds like a fun month! even that week of camping – which is so not my thing – and yet, when you share about it, I think … hummm… that does sound fun! ENJOY!!
