Three On Thursday

Here I am with another 3 random things to share this week . . .

  1. The dahlias are really popping right now. We’ve had warmer daytime temperatures for the last week or so and that has really helped. They definitely took a hit due to my 3 week delay in planting them but they are making up for it now and they are stunning and very prolific.
  2. Thank you for your kind comments on the living room remodel. The gas fireplace was installed yesterday but I can’t see it because they have it covered with cardboard to protect it during the construction. The front entry floor was demolished yesterday and the old radiator was removed. I have now contacted our painter and asked him to give me an updated estimate that includes painting the front hallway. These things definitely have a way of snowballing.
  3. Saturday is my birthday and we are all set to go camping for the weekend, a new tradition that we started in 2022 when we purchased our camper. I’ve been really looking forward to the peace of camping and was hoping for cool days and reading by the campfire. Sadly, it’s forecasted to rain every day until Sunday. And I know we desperately need the rain, it’s been 30 days since we’ve had any. But did the weather have to break just now? I feel targeted. hahaha

And that’s all the news from me this Thursday.

  1. Oh boy… I am not a very good dancer, but I will attempt to do some rain dancing that hopefully will entice the rain here so you can have a bit of sunshine! (and Happy Early Birthday!!) XO

    Happy Birthday early! I know that camping is more fun when the weather cooperates, but I also love rainy camping days – curled up with a blanket and a good book…and, falling asleep to the sound of rain on the camper. Hopefully you will have at least some good weather though.

  3. I will gladly take the rain here if you have any way of sending it southward. Even if it does rain for your camping trip, reading on a rainy day in a camper sounds better than being surrounded by construction!

  4. Happy Saturday Birthday! I think I would rather be in a camper in the rain than in a house being renovated. Sorry that you didn’t get fair weather. We just got 6.75 inches of rain here from the hurricane, so I am rained out, but I do love to listen to the rain. Your dahlias are incredible, Carole. They must bring so much beauty into your life every day.
