Three On Thursday: Pumpkin Spice Mania

Back in September, when Kym and Bonny and I had a zoom to discuss The Ministry of Time, we talked about a lot of things that had nothing to do with that book. I’m sure this is not a surprise . . . And one of the things we talked about was the plethora of pumpkin spice products. We thought it would be fun to do something on our blogs to sort of . . . showcase . . . this and a few weeks later I came up with the idea of doing a Three On Thursday post with the things we’ve seen that are pumpkin spiced. Maybe things we think should not be pumpkin spiced, even.

So here are my three:

Facials. I have no problem with scented products when I get a facial. But I had to laugh when I saw this on my Instagram feed. I know it says pumpkin peel and not pumpkin spice but I think that sounds even worse.

Potholders. The colors are lovely and I’d make them in a heartbeat. I’m just not sure they need to be labeled pumpkin spice, can’t we just call them Autumn colors?

Peeps. As someone who thinks peeps should only ever be yellow and in the shape of little chicks, this is a complete abomination to me. Peeps are for Easter and Easter only and if I ran the world all other peeps would be outlawed!

I hope these pumpkin products made you smile and gave you a lift today. Be sure and visit Bonny and Kym to see the complete pumpkin spice tour!

  1. I am dying… Pumpkin Peeps. I mean can you even call them that? This is great! Steve and I were talking about this very thing when we visited the grocery store in Erie… it was overflowing with all things pumpkin spice!

  2. No pumpkin peel facials for me, but I just ordered some loops and almost fell for those pumpkin spice ones. (In the end I decided against them.) You are absolutely right that Pumpkin Peeps are an abomination. (I can’t wait until you run the world!)

  3. Hahahahaha – this is great! You are so right that Peeps should only be yellow and only seen at Easter time. I’m afraid if I had a pumpkin facial I might end up salivating which would be rather disgusting.

  4. I cannot believe this pumpkin spice mania, and I love pumpkin. Pumpkin peeps are a total abomination, and I hope you run the world soon because marketing needs to be curbed for the good of the people.

  5. Those are fun pumpkin spice “things,” Carole. (Well. Except for the Peeps. . . ) I think the PS “craze” must have abated here in my corner of the world, because I didn’t see “the plethora” this year. At all. Just the PS lattes at Starbucks — and even they were not as in-your-face this year. I was not expecting that . . .
