Joining with Kat (she’s back!) today to share what I’m knitting and reading.

Hannah was here a week or so ago and I finally remembered to have her try on the Waffle Pullover so I could check the length. I was so happy to find that it fits (huge sigh of relief) and that the length was just about where it needed to be to switch to the bottom ribbing. I’ve got about another inch of that to go and then I’m on to sleeve island.

I am reading August Lane by Regina Black. I am only about 50 pages in and it’s fine. Not a book that’s going to require me to work too hard or think too much and honestly, after having finished John of John over the weekend, that sounds pretty good right now.

What are you knitting and reading?

  1. Your (Hannah’s) Waffle Pullover is really lovely and I’m so glad it fits her! Sometimes books that are “fine” and don’t require too much from me as a reader are just what I’m looking for.

  2. I am just beginning John of John. I think it will be a good “sock” book. Some knitting I can just put on auto pilot! Hannah’s sweater looks gorgeous, Carole! Just gorgeous! (and whew that it fits!!)

  3. The sweater looks beautiful, Carole. I am so glad that it fits. The little knitting devil that sits on your shoulder the entire time you knit a sweater has been silenced! Mostly reading light books lately. The world is entirely too much with me these days, so I don’t need anything heavy. I had to put my sweet little dog to sleep last week after only having him a year. Life goes on, but sometimes it is no fun.

  4. Such a relief to know that the sweater fits — and that you didn’t have much left to do on the body! I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on John of John.

  5. Your (Hannah’s) Waffle looks gorgeous. What a fabulous color!

I’ve been staying away from “John of John” because…you know…Young Mungo. Gosh I didn’t like that book at all! But, I’ve been hearing good things about John of John, so maybe… I will wait for your review.

  6. What a gorgeous color for Hannah’s Waffle! So glad it fits!! Just think, once you’re off Sleeve Island(s)… you’re finished! (Right?)

  7. Love the Waffle Sweater! I knit one, it was perfect EXCEPT tragically discovered a huge mistake , made a glaring line across my chest so had to frog it. I repurposed the yarn and I may just finish that sweater next–I didnt have the bandwidth to go through that raglan section agagin even though it is a fabulous design.

Reading, I just started The Women. I know I am way behind the rest of the reading world on that! I have not enjoyed the last few books I’ve read so I am hoping this is a sure success.

  8. Hannah’s Waffle Sweater is very pretty. I love the lavender/lilac shade. It seems this sweater is a bit of a knitting commitment so congratulations on reaching this milestone. Sometimes reading a book that doesn’t require too much thought is a nice break. I’m knitting away on the baby blanket hoping to finish soon. I’m halfway through “The Glorians” by Terry Tempest Williams. She is perhaps my favorite nonfiction writer so I am enjoying the writing and thinking about the content.
