Joining with Kat (she's back!) today to share what I'm knitting and reading. Hannah was…

My departure to Sleeve Island has been delayed due to many nights of meetings and several nights of socializing. Meeting time, however, is good mindless knitting time, and I have made significant progress on the Sophie Scarf that I started (and promptly abandoned) a few months ago.

The decreases are going along rapidly and I expect to finish this very soon. I also expect to cast on another one immediately because it’s a fun and rather addictive pattern. And certainly faster than knitting a pair of socks.
I am currently reading Whistler by Ann Patchett. This is an ARC and the book is set to be published on June 2nd. I only just started it last night, but I can already tell I’m going to love it.
What are you making and reading this week?

I am trying to avoid the Sophie bug… but that purple Sophie is just so cute!!
What a pretty color for your Sophie Scarf. That pattern does not appeal to me, but quick addictive knitting sounds good! I’m in queue (#7) for Whistler.
Two wonderful things – Sophie knitting and Whistler!
I tried to get an ARC of Whistler, but it was not to be. I am really looking forward to reading it. Your scarf is a lovely color! And fun, addictive, and quick knits are what you deserve after that sweater!
I made a Sophie, it was a nice knit. I am looking forward to reading Whistler. The book signing at the independent book store I go to sold out in about an hour.
I requested Whistler on both NetGalley and Edelweiss but heard crickets. I think you are probably a much more attractive reviewer because you’re a librarian! But I preordered a copy from Parnassus, so I’ll get to read it soon anyway. Love your Sophie! I think I’m likely the only person on earth who hasn’t knit one yet, and I’m sure it’s only a matter of time.
I like the Sophie scarves. It’s a great meditative knit. I am looking forward to Whistler. Let us know what you think, although Ann Patchett rarely disappoints me.
