I would not be the reader that I am today were it not for my…

Joining with Kat and friends today to talk about what I’m knitting and reading.

Still working on the Feather & Fan socks. The astute among you may notice that the sock leg is shorter than last week. Yep. I realized when I pulled them out yesterday to work on during a meeting that I had dropped a stitch. It was a YO at the beginning of a row and, not being the best at working out the where-of-it-all, I had to tink back 2 repeats before I found it. That was not the type of thing I could do during a meeting . . . sigh . . . but I did manage to fix it after and I’m making forward progress again.
I’m happy to say that my reading has been more successful than my knitting. I finished two books this week: Crash Into Me by Robinne Lee and The Parisian Heist by Jo Piazza. Both were ARCs from NetGalley but both are now available should you want to put them on hold at the library. Full reviews will be shared here at the beginning of next month but you can always check out my GoodReads page if you just can’t wait.
Last night I started The Keeper by Tana French. It is the 3rd and final book in the Cal Hooper series and I’m already loving being immersed again in the world of Ardnakelty, Ireland and back among these wonderful characters.
What are you knitting and reading this week?

Sorry about the tinking, but sometimes that’s the way knitting goes. Somehow I didn’t see your post last week (lately the Blogger “reader” hasn’t been working very well, so I may need to find a replacement), so now I need to go back to see the last version of the sock.
Feather and Fan is a relatively simple pattern but I’ve never been able to find and fix dropped stitches in it, especially a YO. I hope the rest of the sock is smooth sailing. I’m knitting kitchen towels and reading E.B. White essays – good stuff!
Feather and Fan is lovely . . . but, hoo boy! Don’t drop a stitch! Glad you were able to find and fix your dropped stitch without too much hassle. (But how did you pass the time during your meeting????)
Oh darn it all! I don’t like when that happens… sigh. I have a dropped stitch I noted in my socks and I have a locking stitch marker in it but I am going to try and “knit it up” it is only 11 or 12 rows in plain stockinette… I think I can fix it! (fingers crossed!) But I need to get these socks “waiting room ready” because I need to have a project for some waiting room knitting. I have my mammogram tomorrow followed by a dexascan. I have about 50 minutes between procedures to wait… so I have incentive to get it back on track! I really loved the Cal Hooper series!
