Happy Thanksgiving

I’m thankful for so many things: my husband and kids and extended family, my health, my job, my home, my friends (that’s you guys!), knitting and yarn and spinning and everything else that’s good. I’m also thankful for the bad because it makes the good so much gooder. Or something like that. But you know what I mean, right?

Know what else I’m thankful for? I bet you can guess.

Pie!

The apple is in the oven and the chocolate cream is in the fridge. By the end of the day, they’ll all be in our bellies. Mmmm. Pie.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at CaroleKnits.

Oh grrl, I’m going to go eat breakfast and wish it was your pecan cranberry pie! I’d eat only pie if I had dinner at your house!
    XOXO

Happy Thanksgiving. You know we at Casa Knitigator are thankful for our friendship with the Julius family. I made the crust last night! Off to fill and bake the pie.

*pout* I went out for the evening last night and didn’t get to make any cranberry pie! I don’t have any cranberries in the house, either. It’ll have to be a post-Thanksgiving pie.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I have to admit that yesterday’s photo didn’t look very appetizing. (I’m not a cranberry fan.) But today’s! I’d completely try a bite. And that’s really saying something from a picky eater. ;)

    Happy Thanksgiving! Eat lots!

Save me a piece of the chocolate cream….My husband is in charge of the pies this year. He makes the crust with olive oil and they are scrumptious. He made pumpkin, custard and pecan this year.

Happy Thanksgiving. When I have my Black and Tan, I’ll think of you.

That Cranberry Pecan Pie is inspired!! My fave is cranberry orange, which I have promised to make for my husband this week, but for today I made lime cheesecake. Not too Thanksgiving-y but yummy nonetheless.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, pie!

Years ago (years and years and years) PBS had some wacky alternative filmmaker series. I dimly remember the plot of one of them featuring Rosanna Arquette as a woman who goes home with her boyfriend over Thanksgiving. David Byrne played the brother of the boyfriend and gets really really drunk and passes out. So they save a piece of pie for him. Middle of the night, Rosanna wakes up and can’t sleep so she goes into the kitchen and eats the pie. Just as she’s finishing David Byrne staggers into the room and gets really mad at her. The part I do remember vividly is the line uttered by Byrne, “I may be drunk but I can still eat pie!”

I made your cranberry pecan pie and it was delicious! Everyone loved it and I have to say I liked it even better than straight pecan pie. I’m going to go have a leftover piece right now! Thanks again for sharing the recipe.

One holiday season my MIL asked her brother what he would like for dessert. “Bellyache a-la-mode”, he replied. She served mincemeat with a scoop of vanilla. He allowed as how that was what he asked for! VBG!

Sadly, she died at 5 am this Thanksgiving (today). We remember the good times.
