Too Sick To Blog

No, I was not abducted by the psychic medium. I have a nasty stomach bug. Started last night around midnight and I’ve spent most of my time since then hugging the porcelain throne. I can barely sit up straight to post this. Not good.

I’ll leave the comments open but just know that I won’t be responding this time.

Ugh.

  1. Oh no! Hope you feel better soon. And if it doesn’t get better quickly, do go in for it – my brother got serious food poisoning Monday and needed IVs. He got it from rice, of all things.

  2. No, I wouldn’t respond either. Feel better soon! I recommend ginger tea when you reach the merely queasy stage, which I devoutly hope will not take long.

  3. Get better soon, I insist!

The bug has been going around here too. One high school was considering closing.

    Hugs and clear liquids.

  4. Oh, Carole, I’m sorry you’ve gotten the tummy bug that’s going around. Rest, sip water when you’re ready and keep your germs to yourself. xo

  5. Hope you feel better soon. It’s going around here too and I am just hoping that it doesn’t make a stop at our house…we’ve already had the colds and respiratory infections.

  6. My mom had the same bug. It’s not pleasant. I know this will sound sick but I always prefer it to come out the other end. At least you can read at the same time. Hope you feel better. Watch some cartoons and eat popsicles. 🙂

  7. Poor you! Hope you’re being taken care of with lots of fluids (when you can stomach them). Popsicles is an excellent suggestion too!

  8. That is a nasty virus that is presently making the rounds here in Massachusetts! My son and neighbor had it last week. I took care of them both but have managed to dodge that bullet so far. Try to get in fluids – popsicles/tea/ice chips – especially if you have a temperature. My son was 102. The worst part was over in about 24 hours but both of them continued to feel weak and have sweats/chills for several days. I hope you get over this soon. It’s a nasty one!

  9. Make sure you are getting your electrolytes by drinking something like Gatorade. Bananas are good too (for the potassium). You don’t even want to know what happened to me 9 years ago when I had the same virus.

  10. Probiotics will help you to build your immune system back up. When you take probiotics on a regular basis it lessens or eliminates these kind of infections. I even give them to my dogs and it works very well. Take care and get lots of rest and fluids when you can manage.
